About Open Seas

Open Seas (openseas.org.uk) is a small environmental charity working in Scotland and beyond to promote environmental recovery in our seas and champion sustainable seafood. Established in 2016, we conduct environmental and policy research to inform consumers, markets and decision-makers as well as generate campaigns to drive positive change for the environmental health of Scotland’s seas.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Communications, you’ll join a small, creative, and supportive team working to make a real impact for Scotland’s seas. This is a maternity cover position, offering an exciting opportunity to step into a dynamic role where you can quickly make a difference.

You’ll help craft engaging digital content and drive public campaigns that raise awareness of seafood sustainability and marine protection — inspiring both people and policymakers to take action.

A key part of your work will be supporting collaborative external campaigns and finding imaginative ways to grow Open Seas’ reach and influence. From storytelling through film and design to building our online presence, your creativity will help showcase Scotland’s incredible marine life — and the urgent need to protect it.

You’ll contribute across a range of activities, from managing social media and improving SEO, to developing new website content and visual communications.

KASP has a part time vacancy for a Finance & Administration Worker. This role will ensure the smooth running of Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project’s financial and administrative systems. You will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, supporting KASP manager and the external accountant to ensure strong financial oversight, and providing efficient administrative support across our systems (Microsoft 365, Xero, Teams, OASIS, Zoom).

This post requires a highly motivated individual who is capable of maintaining accurate and timely financial records using Xero accounting software, budgeting, and regular financial reporting.

KASP is looking for someone who is qualified by experience and is familiar with bookkeeping for a small/medium charity with multiple funding sources. Ideally, (but not necessary) an appropriate qualification would be HNC/HND or AAT qualification.

Experience with Xero or other relevant accounting software is essential

St John’s Church, Linlithgow, is looking for an organised and creative Admin & Communications Assistant to support the smooth running of our church life and help us communicate effectively with our congregation and local community.

Working closely with the Office & Operations Manager and the Services, Comms & Media Lead you will provide practical administrative and communications support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has good administrative skills, and is confident with digital tools and communication platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling general enquiries and supporting day-to-day administration
• Preparing service sheets, notices and other documents
• Updating the website, Facebook and ChurchSuite
• Creating weekly service slides and e-newsletters
• Supporting preparations for services and church events

The Milton Community Garden Manager will lead the development and delivery of a thriving, community-led garden that improves local health and wellbeing, strengthens community relationships, and increases access to nature. The role will oversee staff, community-led programmes and the garden’s facilities and grounds to ensure the garden supports key outcomes of the National Lottery Community Action Fund.

The postholder will support the garden’s therapeutic, educational and environmental programmes; increase community participation; deliver community meals and activities in collaboration with the Milton Food Hub; and develop the garden as a sustainable asset, including preparing the site for future venue hire and income generation. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility for operational management, partnership development, and community-led working.

Total of 18 hours per week, at salary £30102 (pro rata £15481) + 25 days Annual Leave & 12 Public Holidays pro rata + 7% pension contribution. Funding is in place until 31 July 2028, subject to annual funding review and required reports.
