Join us to manage a set of support services that can make a real difference to the lives of people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse.

We are looking for a Recovery Lead Counsellor to develop the support of Survivors Unite through our Safe Oaks Project. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in innova-tive service development in a rural area to address unmet needs for support.

Survivors Unite seeks to facilitate the recovery of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the Scottish Borders. We work with survivors in all stages of recovery and offer 1:1 peer support; counselling / therapy; and a facilitated peer support group and have ambitions to develop other services as resources allow. We are currently funded bythe Scottish Government, the Robertson Trust, the National Lottery Community Fund and Foundation Scotland.

Job requirements

The successful candidate with have a sound understanding of the impact of childhood

sexual abuse and trauma on adult survivors and be experienced in working with service users to address support needs. The post requires a professional qualification in social work, counselling, clinical psychology or related discipline and membership of Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
