Working alongside the wider FARE team, the Family Liaison Officer (school based) will maximise the potential of local facilities to meet the needs of school pupils and local people of all ages. S/he will develop and participate in the delivery of a range of joint and needs identified activities. The post holder will have a sound knowledge of the issues faced by children, young people, adults and families. While also having experience in developing interventions to tackle poverty, its symptoms and close the attainment gap through educational and social activities including volunteering and mentoring opportunities.
S/he will have experience of planning and delivering needs led programmes by working alongside the school, local people and other organisations in a strategic working group to meet the needs of the pupils and their families with the School catchment area. The post holder will be based in the school and therefore should have good oral and written communication skills s/he must have the ability to communicate with people at all levels.

This is a permanent post. We have one full time equivalent post (35 hours a week), but we would like to hear from anyone who would like to explore a reduced hours arrangement. Please identify your preferred working pattern/availability in your application.

Barnardo's Threads service has been supporting young people in the Renfrewshire area for over 20 years.
Barnardo's in partnership with Renfrewshire Council is recruiting a project worker (PW2) for our GAP Homes service.
GAP Homes will provide a coordinated and intensive package of support for identified young care leavers. These young people can present with multiple and/ or complex support needs. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of supporting young people through issues including trauma, loss, substance use or exploitation. You will liaise with multi agency partners to deliver outcome focussed support. The support is delivered over seven days therefore a flexible working approach is required.

The new team and model of relational and restorative approaches, including Family Group Decision Making, will play a pivotal role in the delivery and development of the service, ensuring high quality relationships with children and families and working alongside our partners to evidence impact.
