Quarriers Homelife Ayr aims to provide innovative, individually tailored support for the people we support in their own home within the community.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced social care practitioner to manage the day to day running of a Care at Home and Supported Living Service in Ayr.

You will have direct management responsibility for several Team Leaders and approx 70 support workers who are delivering approx 1500 hours of care and support to people who require support due to physical and/or sensory difficulty and/or mental health in the community of Ayr.

The office base is currently located in Wellington Square in Ayr.

This role offers excellent career development potential and the opportunity to join an experienced team of professionals who will support the successful candidate to become established in the role of Registered Manager of the service. The Registered Manager of the service is supported by Team Leaders, and will be mentored by the service Operational Manager as they undertake a structured induction, as well as having access to a wide range of training and development resources. Homelife Ayr is an established service with an existing resilient team.

There are two parts to manager qualification requirements. You must have a practice and a management qualification. The main qualifications are below.

Qualifications required are:

  • SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 9
  • Any award in management that is certificated at or above SCQF Level 9* (min 60 credits) and mapped against the National Occupational Standards: Leadership and Management for Care Services SCQF 10
  • SVQ Care Services Leadership and Management SCQF Level 10

The successful candidate must have a full current drivers licence and access to own transport.

Please note that IT skills are required for all Quarriers vacancies.

Where applicable, successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date.
