  • Fixed term to 31.03.2023. 37 hours per week, including weekends and evenings. Annual salary: £22,440 with the potential to increase to £23,460 after 6 months.

Role

What does the role involve?

We are recruiting for a Youth & Family Support Worker to work within the local community to provide 1 to 1 relationship based support to young people and their families/carers.

The successful candidate will be required to:-

  • Build effective relationships with young people and their families and engage them in 1 to 1 support within their local community
  • Identify and record individual support needs and work collaboratively with young people and their families to develop and deliver a sustainable individual support plan based upon presenting and underlying behaviours
  • Use appropriate tools in order to help young people and families understand the impact of their behaviour within the wider community
  • Work in partnership with existing community resources, organisations and supports to sustain positive change with families
  • Develop and deliver groupwork activities

All posts require individuals to:

  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the young people and families
  • Develop safe, professional and committed relationships with young people and families
  • Use their communication skills effectively to influence, record and evidence positive change and provide personalised, risk enabled, professional support
  • Be able to drive and have access to a car for work purposes
  • Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme (paid for by Includem)
  • To be registered or be willing to become registered with the Scottish Social Services Council and hold or be willing to work toward HNC Social Care and SVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalent (qualifications are fully funded by includem)
