An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Governance Officer to join our Strategic Services Team. This role will play a critical part within the team,providing corporate management support within the governance, regulatory and compliance functions, servicing Board meetings and establishing strong relationships with stakeholders. Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Secretary to ensure that the Association and its subsidiaries satisfy legal and regulatory obligations, in line with best practice
  • Build key relationships with Board and Committee members, subsidiary Board members and external stakeholders
  • Plan and manage the Board and Committee programme of business and service meetings
  • Maintain and report on regulatory registers and statutory return submissions
  • Co-ordinate the process for Board member recruitment, induction and learning and development
  • Co-ordinate the governance, internal audit and policy review programmes
  • Assist with responses to Freedom of Information & Data Subject Access Requests

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a company secretarial role/legal/financial roles supporting governance arrangements
  • Previous experience of working with senior staff and members of governing bodies
  • Proven experience of researching and writing policy documents, reports and minutes
  • Good level of understanding of best practice relating to governance support
  • Educated to a minimum of higher level or with significant relevant experience
