About The Participation Team and The Promise

The team works with children and young people supported by Aberlour to make their voices heard. We believe that children and young people should be involved in all aspects of their care. As part of the team, you will have a particular focus on driving a fixed term project called The Promise Young Collaborators, which will support young people with care experience to design their own approaches to exploring, researching and reaching out to other young people about:

• What The Promise means to them; and

• How the funding can be spent to embed The Promise in their lives and the care they experience in a way that will benefit Aberlour’s care experienced community.

The Promise is the key policy outlining an approach to family and to care that will mean that Scotland can truly be ‘the best place in the world to grow up.’ It is the key driver for the change demanded by the findings of the Independent Care Review. It aims to support changes in policy, practice and culture so that Scotland can #KeepThePromise it made to care experienced infants, children, young people, adults and their families that every child grows up loved, safe and respected, able to realise their full potential.
