Role

Glasgow University Students’ Representative Council (GUSRC) is the student voice across the University and beyond.

Although we are funded by the University, we are an independent student led charity. Our Advice Centre offers independent advice, representation and advocacy to UofG students on issues ranging from University regulations (.e.g academic appeals, student complaints.) to Housing Rights, Financial Advice, Debt and Benefits etc.

We have an opportunity for an Advice and Representation Officer to provide a frontline advice and representation service to students of the University. We anticipate the successful candidate having experience in an advice/representation role, an awareness of current issues impacting on student welfare as well as a demonstrable understanding of the skills required for effective advisory and representation work.

The role is ideal for anyone who has hands-on experience of working within an advice or advocacy setting in the third sector or in an education setting. You should be an empathetic team player with excellent organisation and communication skills.

Full Time Position - 35 hours per week. Flexi time system in operation. Some evening work will be necessary and there will be some potential for home working (part).
