Role

Cosgrove Care is a vibrant, ambitious charity providing high quality, diverse services for children, adults and families who have disabilities across West Central Scotland. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with the people we work with to support our vision. As a result, we’ve developed innovative ways to help people achieve their potential, thrive, and take up their place in our communities as equal citizens.

We are headquartered in a growing and diverse community on the southside of Glasgow with excellent schools, high quality open space and good connections to the west and central Scotland.

Cosgrove Care is on the path of change and transformation. With changing demands and limited resources, the organisation is continually adapting to meet the needs of people we support, commissioners and funders. The Scottish Government Independent Review of Adult Social Care signals once in a generation change to the sector that we want to embrace and be part of. These are exciting times for Cosgrove Care and we want to have a finance function that will build a brilliant team to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

The Senior Manager- Finance and Corporate Services is a key role within the organisation and the post holder will be the key contact for senior stakeholders for the Corporate Management Team, Managers Team and the Board of Directors. The post holder will head up the continued transformation and development of the finance function and be part of an exciting programme of modernisation and change. The financial pressures within social care mean that our systems, processes, and approach need to be innovative, forward thinking and efficient.

The post will evolve, develop and expand and this role would suit an ambitious, committed professional keen to be involved in shaping and modernising the organisation for the future.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) is responsible for the overall financial management, business analysis and reporting of Cosgrove Care, ensuring on-going viability and a secure financial future in line with the organisation’s charitable status, mission and values.
  • Provide financial advice and information to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Work as part of the Corporate Management Team (CMT) to provide expert guidance and strategic input on charitable finance to aid the development and progress of Cosgrove Care.
  • Play a key role in the overall strategic management of Cosgrove Care.
  • Support and drive a period of significant internal change in the organisation’s delivery of support services, as Cosgrove improves efficiency and financial sustainability.

Key attributes:

  • CCAB or similar Accountancy qualification
  • Extensive experience working in a varied finance role, ideally in the Third Sector.
  • Extensive experience of preparation and analysis of Management Accounts, financial budget setting and modelling and annual audit process.
  • Working across a range of stakeholders, ideally with experience in implementation of new systems and processes and associated change management.
  • Commercial awareness

This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious team working in a dynamic environment.

If you feel you meet any of the above requirements and ideally if you have good knowledge of the Third Sector in Scotland, we would like to hear from you.
