We’re looking for a new Mental Health and Substance Use Engagement and Involvement Manager to join our dynamic and creative workforce here at Dundee Volunteer and Voluntary Action (DVVA.

Working in the Third Sector is not about making profit but rather, making a difference to society. Third Sector organisations are categorised into: Charities and Community Groups and Social Enterprises. DVVA and DSEN are known as the Third Sector Interface for Dundee, working together to provide all third sector entities, with the support they need to be financial sustainable, advising on what is required for them to achieve good governance for their business.

DVVA also provides many community focused projects and also ensures good effective volunteering opportunities for people across the city.

With 50+ staff, DVVA is committed to ensuring that they are well supported, their talent is recognised and developed further with high quality effective opportunities to grow and develop in their roles.

The role

We are looking for a dynamic individual who can provide leadership, support, and line management to a small team of engagement and Involvement staff, and, volunteers in the Mental Health and Substance Use Team here at DVVA.

The role will oversee the development and delivery of the Mental Health and Substance Use team Work-Plan. Working in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies, and with local communities to deliver the team vision in line with local priorities.

Ensuring that third sector organisations and people with lived experience of mental health and / or substance use challenges are actively involved in making Dundee a City of Recovery.

Developing and sustaining connections with locality working and cross-cutting agendas including suicide prevention and homelessness.

The successful candidate

Will have a minimum of three years’ experience working in a similar field and will be educated to degree level.
