As an experienced Service Manager, you will lead your teams of frontline health and social care staff to deliver efficient, high quality and person centred care in Glasgow. You will provide support to empower people to live independently and make it a great place to work for our colleagues.
Glasgow Stabilisation Service
Turning Point Scotland’s Glasgow Residential Stabilisation Service is a ground-breaking model that delivers an integrated health and social care support to people experiencing issues with alcohol and other drugs. The service is based in Tradeston and has a staff team of approx. 35 people consisting of health, social care staff and auxiliary staff. We offer 16 bedrooms for people for a period of 4-6 weeks, to take time out from their community to detox from alcohol and illicit drugs and stabilise on appropriate medication assisted treatment. We also deliver an intensive groupwork and 1:1 program building resilience, recovery capital, connecting with families and planning for return to community.
We need someone who shares our belief in reducing harm of alcohol and other drug use, inspiring hope and supporting people to reach their potential.
You will have passion and drive to take forward our well established service and team through:
- Your experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- Leading your team through supervising a specialist team, motivating them effectively to promote good teamwork.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships with people who use the service and their family and friends.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment

Our psychology team within the organisation is continuing to grow, demonstrating their value and importance to our ever evolving services and support. We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to lead on this work in our West of Scotland teams and take an active leadership role within the organisation. The key focus of this role will be to support the organisation to continue to implement psychologically informed environment principles and trauma informed care, creating and maintaining psychological safety for all. This work will be carried out under the supervision of a Prinicipal Clinical Psychologist external to Simon Community Scotland. The job plan will be agreed with the Director of Services, working independently within the framework, policies and procedures of the organisation. The job plan will cover both direct and indirect work, with more focus on indirect, it is an opportunity to use the range of skills of a Clinical Psychologist; leadership, formulation, consultation, supervision, research and service development. The job will include working across different services in the West of Scotland, including supported accommodation, community support hubs and outreach. develops and the postholder will be a key stakeholder in that review. About the role
As the Registered Manager, you will be an experienced leader leading a team working with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
As the Registered Manager you will:
- Maintain the continuing relevance of services to individuals’ needs and purchaser requirements by ongoing planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the service, managing significant budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and making financial decisions.
- Where a need or an opportunity is identified, lead on the development of new services, support business growth and maintain reputational excellence.
- Comply with governance, law and legislation including local authority compliance, Care Inspectorate (at level 5 and above), SSSC and safeguarding procedures.
- Support the senior management team in the streamlining, promotion and monitoring of quality assurance systems which meets the needs of individual services as well as the overall service delivery in the region.
- Develop, monitor and implement supervision and appraisal systems for staff.
About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
