Role

At Lifelink we are proud to be a little bit different! We are an award winning people-centred mental health and wellbeing social enterprise with an aspiration to be an outstanding organisation for everyone: our people, our clients, our partners and stakeholders.

As an organisation who punches well above our weight, innovation is central to all that we do. We are always looking at the best ways to deliver services that meet the needs of our clients both today, and in the future.

The recent pandemic has taught us so much about the innovative ways our services can reach our clients, even in the most difficult of circumstances and we are always looking to learn and improve the services that we can offer.

As we emerge from the pandemic, we believe that supporting our workforce to be as agile and responsive as possible will be a significant asset and more significantly will support more people to be healthier and happier wherever they live, work or learn.

With this in mind, we have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Director, up to 35 hours, Grade 9 (£50-£55k pro rata and depending on experience) to join our team. A competitive salary and benefits package includes generous holiday allowance, contributory pension scheme (6% from employer), cash back health plan, life cover of 3x annual salary, excellent learning and development opportunities and so much more.

With a background in business development across corporate, public and third sectors, you will have a track record of successfully expanding into new markets with tailored product and service propositions. You will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and be highly accomplished in networking, relationship management and stakeholder engagement. You have a proven ability to build and maintain deep and effective business relationships inside and external to the organisation. Adept at working collaboratively, you will leverage relationships and capabilities across the organisation to develop and implement clearly defined strategies with tangible processes and measurable outcomes. A key member of the Leadership team, you will be accountable for defining and delivering short, medium, and long-term business development strategies and goals, together with their associated financial targets.

This is a busy and demanding role with a broad remit. As such we are seeking an innovative and ambitious ‘hands on’ leader who is comfortable with a broad portfolio and can drive forward our business strategy whilst building on our reputation. Creating a culture that empowers staff to embrace new ways of working you will help us to achieve our growth potential and our aim to provide high quality, sustainable services aligned to the needs of existing customers and emerging markets.

Supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing is very rewarding, but we know that at times it can also be challenging – staff welfare is of paramount importance to us. You will receive monthly 1:1’s with your line manager, annual appraisal and have access to Lifelink’s Employee Assistance Programme.

The successful candidate will be provided with a full induction. We will also provide the opportunity to learn more about our amazing social enterprise and the hard work that goes on ‘behind the scenes’.

For our people to work here means that we want Lifelink to be a great place to work where everyone can thrive and grow. If you would like to be part of our dedicated team; making a real difference to those in need, then we would love to hear from you.

Our services operate daytime, evenings and weekends and we have flexible and agile working arrangements, including home or remote working, so we are very happy to consider forms of flexible working that would enable you to thrive both professionally and personally with us and give you the flexibility to balance work and home life.
