Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced health and social care practice assessor to join our national Learning and Development team.
As SVQ Internal Verifier/Assessor, you will work remotely within our internal SQA Approved Centre, which was awarded “high confidence” from SQA and “outstanding” feedback in our latest external verifications. You will support our staff in services in the north of Scotland to gain their qualifications in SVQ Level 2, 3 or 4 Social Services and Healthcare.
You’ll lead candidates through their induction onto their qualification, plan assessments, provide learner support and assess holistically. You’ll be passionate about learning and experienced in offering additional learner support to suit a variety of learning styles and abilities. You will have strong organisational and communication skill be comfortable and confident in the use of online tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and MS Office.
We support candidates to complete most of their awards remotely via e-portfolio, but travel is required for direct observations and to support candidates. Flexibility and willingness to travel are essential to the role, which involves a combination of remote home-based working and travel to our services/office locations within the region.
You must have a valid UK driving licence and access to your own car.
The post requires you to have a care qualification at SVQ Level 3, or equivalent, and an SVQ assessor`s award. You will have the qualifications to assess and internally verify awards at this level, or the experience and commitment to achieve this within 12 months.

About the role
As the Registered Manager, you will be an experienced leader leading a team working with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing them with practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives e.g. keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing.
As the Registered Manager you will:
- Maintain the continuing relevance of services to individuals’ needs and purchaser requirements by ongoing planning, monitoring and evaluation.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the service, managing significant budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and making financial decisions.
- Where a need or an opportunity is identified, lead on the development of new services, support business growth and maintain reputational excellence.
- Comply with governance, law and legislation including local authority compliance, Care Inspectorate (at level 5 and above), SSSC and safeguarding procedures.
- Support the senior management team in the streamlining, promotion and monitoring of quality assurance systems which meets the needs of individual services as well as the overall service delivery in the region.
- Develop, monitor and implement supervision and appraisal systems for staff.
About You
You will have passion and drive to take forward a well-established Service and Team. Be passionate; and committed to the overall aims and objectives of the service and have the belief that people can live fulfilling lives with the right support in place.
You should also have:
- Experience of working with vulnerable people and leading a service delivery team, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
- The ability to negotiate with a wide range of internal and external partners and build positive relationships including local authorities and housing associations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise your own time and workload to meet a number of different and competing tasks in sometimes pressurised environment.
- Social Service and Health Care at level 9 (SCQF) or other speciality/qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes as well as a relevant management qualification.
Recovery and Resettlement Worker – Inverness

For the past nine years, Bethany Christian Trust have been delivering a community-based addiction recovery program in Scotland. As the demand for this service grows, we are looking for a candidate who will lead, develop and deliver Bethany’s Bridge to Freedom program within a group setting. A significant part of the role will also be to facilitate and develop recovery and resettlement work in partnership with churches and other organisations around Inverness.
It is essential that you have experience in facilitating, planning and working with vulnerable people in a community setting. A qualification in Social Work, Social Care, Community Education or related discipline is essential, or a willingness to work towards such a qualification.

Role and responsibilities
• Coordinate and deliver support plans addressing tenancy sustainment, substance use, mental health, housing needs, and personal development.
• Responsible for coordinating and maintaining staff rotas for their service.
• Work directly with individuals to help them achieve their goals, build life skills, and improve health and wellbeing.
• Act as a keyworker and oversee support delivery, ensuring accurate and professional records.
• Liaise with external partners, including housing teams, healthcare services, and advocacy groups.
• Provide leadership on shift and supervision to support workers in the absence of the Team Leader.
• Promote inclusion, empowerment, and trauma-informed practice in all areas of support.
Essential Skills and Attributes
• A recognised social care qualification at SCQF Level 6 or above.
• Experience working in adult social care, ideally in homelessness, housing support or mental health.
• Confident in report writing, support planning, and using digital systems.
• Understanding of SSSC codes of practice and Care Inspectorate standards.
• Strong values of compassion, dignity, and respect for all.
