The team
This Marketing Communications Executive role will join Energy Saving Trust’s Group Marketing and Communications team. We are responsible for:
- Getting our energy saving message out to consumers
- Growing and developing our brand and reputation
- Influencing consumers’ behaviour with marketing and communications campaigns
- Influencing UK government policy through PR, thought leadership and speaking opportunities
- Driving people to our energy saving advice through our digital channels
- Collaborating and partnering with relevant stakeholders to address the climate emergency.
Our experienced, skilled team of around 40 people meets regularly and effectively collaborates. We’re professional, we strongly encourage Continuing Professional Development and training and we’re very supportive.
The role
Home Energy Scotland is the free, impartial energy advice service funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Energy Saving Trust. It’s mission is to help people in Scotland create warmer homes, reduce their energy bills and lower their carbon footprint.
As well as working directly with households, we partner with organisations and community groups. Our partnership portal lets organisations refer people who may be struggling to heat their homes to us for expert advice, and we also deliver services that help employers support staff through our employee engagement activities.
The Marketing Communications Executive role forms a key part of the Home Energy Scotland marketing team. Reporting to the Marketing Communications Manager, the successful postholder will be joining us at an unprecedented time where concerns around energy costs and the needs for our services have never been higher. No two days are the same – and you’ll be at the front line of helping people across Scotland to save money, mitigating the climate emergency and playing a key role in helping Scotland to reach its target of Net Zero emissions by 2045.
What you’ll do
- You’ll work closely with our programme team, marketing colleagues and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to plan and executive effective and innovative marketing communications activities for our partnerships & communities and employee engagement activities.
- You’ll also support the delivery of wider consumer campaigns to help us achieve our marketing objectives and support the wider Key Performance Indicators of the programme
- You’ll handle the tactical delivery of marketing output – from traditional and digital content creation, to print production supporting with event activity.
What you’ll bring
- You’ll be a top-quality written communicator with the ability to write clear and accurate communications across the full range of marketing channels, taking into account best search engine optimisation principles.
- You’ll ideally have worked in a similar role previously – this can be on agency or client-side.
- You’ll have an excellent eye for detail
- You’ll be excellent at managing stakeholder relationships.
This is a permanent position. Our standard weekly hours are 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday. As standard we offer all contracts on blended (home and office-based) working.

Senior Transport Campaigner

This role is key in building power in our movement to win a better transport system in Scotland – one that cuts climate emissions, connects communities and is run in the interests of passengers, not profit.
Transport is Scotland’s largest polluting sector, so tackling the transport system is vital for cutting fossil fuel use and climate emissions.
The focus of this role is our campaign for better buses. Our vision is of an accessible, extensive, publicly-owned bus network that’s free for everyone. A comprehensive, reliable bus network is essential for tackling climate change and reducing inequality – connecting communities and getting people out of private cars. However, the current network is run by private operators, often expensive and unreliable with routes cut and standards declining.
Friends of the Earth Scotland is committed to building a powerful movement for system change, and we believe that communities must take the lead in the transition away from our car-dominated system, so that what replaces it works for all of Scotland.
The successful candidate will have experience and skills in local organising or supporting volunteers. We are looking for someone who can bring new people into the movement, and support and motivate volunteers and local organisers in their communities.

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (the Trust) is looking for a full-time Individual Giving & Membership Officer.
Your primary role will be
- To provide an excellent customer service experience to the Trust’s members, donors, and supporters.
- Day-to-day management of the individual fundraising elements of the Trust’s Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management database, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
- With the Individual Giving Manager (IGM), implement strategic initiatives to develop and grow income from Membership, Individual Giving and Merchandise.
The Individual Giving and Membership Team raises unrestricted funds for the Trust and stewards the membership lifecycle. These significantly contribute to aim 5 of the Trust’s strategy to be a sustainable organisation. The team also has a key contribution to strategic aim 2, encouraging individuals to take action to help bumblebees.
You will be a highly organised and detail-focused individual with excellent customer service skills across phone, email and written communication. Strong verbal and written communication abilities, alongside high computer literacy in Microsoft Office 365, are essential. You will manage detailed administrative tasks and be comfortable maintaining live data on the fundraising CRM database. You will work collaboratively to identify and implement system and process improvements, building effective relationships across dispersed teams. You will be a proactive team player who can independently plan and prioritise their workload, while recognising development needs and undertaking training to adopt new tools and technologies.

Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people through fuel poverty and food insecurity. We deliver a range of projects, events and skills training to achieve the needs and goals of local people – building resilience as a community and working towards a future where everyone can live better and tread more lightly on our planet.
Based in the heart of Kirkcaldy – with a community building, training kitchen, bike shop and garden – we carry out activities across Kirkcaldy and work with partners to deliver projects across Fife.
Growing and connection with nature has central to our work since the beginning. Our community training garden at Ravenscraig Walled Garden is a vibrant space. It offers courses, training and volunteer opportunities in gardening and growing. It also includes a community orchard, with over 100 fruit trees and a ‘wild area’ that is set aside for nature.
As lead partner of Climate Action Fife, we work with others to help people to garden in climate-friendly ways. We’ve helped people to plant fruit trees and we recently created a demonstration climate-friendly garden at our community building garden in Kirkcaldy town centre. We are always looking for new opportunities to help local people connect with nature on their doorstep.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to lead and develop our growing and nature connection projects work.
As part of our Community Engagement Team, you will work with staff, volunteers and partners. You will plan and deliver a diverse range of events, training and volunteer opportunities around growing and nature. We are keen to strengthen our ‘Plot to Plate’ activities, so you will work with our Community Food Team to connect growing with cooking classes, meals and food access projects.
You will play a key role developing new projects and activities, both grant-funded and income generating. You will support a Community Garden Worker and an enthusiastic team of mixed-ability volunteers to maintain and develop our community gardens and coordinate day-to-day activities.
You don’t need to be an expert in climate change or biodiversity. We will provide training and you will be supported by a great team.
