The team

We manage the national Home Energy Scotland service on behalf of the Scottish Government. Joining our team means joining an award-winning advice service that supports hundreds of thousands of households across Scotland every year to make their homes warmer, more affordable, and sustainable.

The climate emergency and the current fuel price crisis means the work of Home Energy Scotland has never been more important. Our team is making a real difference to people’s lives, and we are also growing rapidly which is why we need more skilled and dedicated people to join our team now.

We collaborate with colleagues across the Energy Saving Trust as well as working with external partners in Scotland. You will be working with people and organisations to help tackle fuel poverty and the climate emergency, both directly, and through a network of regional advice centres covering all of Scotland.

The role

▪ This is an exciting role within the Home Energy Scotland team, reporting to the Fuel Poverty Partnerships Manager, Home Energy Scotland. You will be responsible for developing and nurturing national and local partnerships that extend the reach and impact of Home Energy Scotland to tackle fuel poverty.

▪ By ensuring that you are motivated and effective at forming successful partnerships, you will know that this results in us visiting and supporting thousands of households, generating action which results in warmer, affordable houses across Scotland and saving hundreds of thousands of tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

What you’ll do

▪ Support the Home Energy Scotland advice centres to work to the Scottish Government’s priority areas to achieve targets for fuel poverty partnerships and will produce high quality reporting to showcase the impact of our work to tackle fuel poverty.

▪ Develop and maintain meaningful partnerships relationships with organisations that support people in fuel poverty, to extend the reach of the Home Energy Scotland network and widen the opportunities for people to access our support.

▪ Responsible for monitoring the use of our online tools to ensure they are being used effectively and opportunities for improvements to the tools or processes are leveraged.

▪ On occasion, you will be required to attend events and visit advice centres to raise awareness of our programme- therefore it is a requirement that you reside in Scotland.

What you’ll bring

▪ Experience of networking and partnership working

▪ Excellent communication skills – written and verbal

▪ Understanding of the Scottish public and third sectors.

This is a permanent position. Our standard weekly hours are 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday.

We are open to flexible working locations (within Scotland) and as standard we offer all contracts on blended (home and office-based) working.
