The team
Our team in Energy Saving Trust manages the national Home Energy Scotland service on behalf of the Scottish Government. Joining our team means joining an award-winning advice service that supports hundreds of thousands of households across Scotland every year to make their homes warmer, more affordable, and sustainable.
The climate emergency and the current fuel price crisis means the work of Home Energy Scotland has never been more important. Our team is making a real difference to people’s lives, and we are also growing rapidly. We need to recruit more skilled and dedicated people to join our team now.
Our team collaborates widely with colleagues in Energy Saving Trust, staff across the Home Energy Scotland network and many other partners across Scotland. You will be working with people and organisations to help tackle fuel poverty and the climate emergency, both directly, and through a network of regional advice centres covering all of Scotland.
The role
Manage the successful delivery of the Energy Saving Trust (EST) employee engagement programme in Scotland through Home Energy Scotland and provide additional support by facilitating collaboration with Energy Saving Trust’s business support programmes.
The service is offered free to organisations with employees living in Scotland. It provides informative engaging activities and resources to help people reduce their energy and fuel consumption in their personal lives and encourage them to apply the same principles at work.
You don’t need to be an energy expert. We’re looking for a great communicator who’s productive working alone, in a small team, or with an audience, to professionally represent Home Energy Scotland and Energy Saving Trust, and to inspire others with enthusiasm for our mission.
You’ll need to be comfortable using video calls, webinars and email to provide the service online, minimising carbon emissions from travel. There will be some travel within Scotland using public transport to Energy Saving Trust’s Edinburgh office, Home Energy Scotland advice centre locations and to clients’ business premises.
This role is in the Home Energy Scotland team, reporting to the Partnership and Improvement Manager, Home Energy Scotland. Our previous Business Engagement Officer has moved on to another role in Energy Saving Trust and will provide a handover.

This is a permanent position. Our standard weekly hours are 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday.
We are open to flexible working locations (within in Scotland) and as standard we offer all contracts on blended (home and office-based) working. This position is part of the Home Energy Scotland team and service so it requires presence in Scotland.
