Role

Are you willing to offer your perspective to help us reach our goals?

Aid and Abet are looking for individuals to join our existing trustees to bring about positive futures for those who have experience of the criminal justice system.

As a lived experience charity, our mentors share their insights and learning from their own journeys to assist others to reintegrate back into communities after leaving prison. The mentors are the strength of the charity, who, by providing their expert assistance enable mentees to take the next positive step in their own journey. We believe once someone has been in prison, they need never go back.

We are looking for individuals who will support the team to not only deliver organisational goals, but to lead and shape the direction of the charity. Our intention is to bring together trustees with fresh ideas with different viewpoints, experiences, and skills to improve the life of others.

It is possible to become an Aid and Abet trustee without being a specialist. Sharing your common-sense approach and ideas to guide decision making will create opportunities for you to add value to the charity while developing your skills and experience.

There is no limit to who can serve as a trustee when it comes to experience, and we would welcome interest from those who are motivated to contribute to Aid and Abets future. While not essential, we are particularly keen to hear from those with lived experience of the criminal justice system, fundraising, IT, financial experience, and management in the third sector.

As a volunteer and in line with our expenses policy, you may be eligible to be reimbursed for expenses while carrying out Aid and Abet business.
