Role

At Children 1st our vision is that children in Scotland will be safer, will grow up in strong, resilient families and will have access to early help and support when they need it. They will have their rights protected in all areas of their lives. Prevention of harm to children, stronger, more resilient families and communities, greater respect for children’s rights and strong partnerships and community engagement will be our measure of success.

The success of the fundraising strategy at Children 1st has ensured that we have a strong platform to build from and we are excited to be recruiting a Community Fundraiser to ensure we provide our supporters with a first-class experience.

This role might be for you if you are good at;

  • Creating and delivering amazing supporter experiences
  • Talking to people via email, face to face and the phone – not being afraid to make an ask when appropriate!
  • Problem solving and are solutions focused
  • Building working relationships with a wide variety of individuals
  • Being a team player and thinking differently about where you can support your teammates and colleagues across the charity
  • Delivering the best you can

Travel is a key element of this role as we support fundraising activity across the whole of Scotland. We will be looking for the post holder to be willing and able to travel as the role requires e.g. to events, meetings, to build relationships with staff and supporters and maximize new opportunities.

This is an entry level role that is perfect for someone who is interested in joining the charity sector and wants to learn. We don’t expect you to necessarily have paid fundraising/charity experience for this role, you might have been involved in fundraising or volunteering personally, or through a previous workplace or educational setting.
