Main Purpose:

Stirling CAB seeks to develop an Independent Homelessness Advice & Representation Prevention Service to respond to the COVD19/cost of living crisis legal impact area of housing to prevent homelessness by the provision of advice, advocacy, casework support and heritable representation, across the Stirling Local Authority Area.

To provide a 2nd tier consultancy support service to the total architecture of Stirling CAB advice services, to build its capacity & increase seamless access to heritable social justice for Stirling CAB clients.

Job description:

Your duties will be to act as a Homelessness Advice & Representation Prevention Service advice worker in the Stirling CAB team with prime responsibility for COVD19/cost of living housing/homelessness impact areas. You will be expected to support the CAB service particularly in helping to ensure that CAB complies with its regulatory responsibilities.

Flexible duties:

There will be times when you may be required to undertake additional tasks, duties and responsibilities within your capabilities. Stirling CAB, acting through the CEO, reserves the right to vary your tasks, duties and responsibilities at any time and from time to time according to the needs of the Employer’s business. However, you will not be assigned to duties or required to perform services which you cannot reasonably perform or which are outside the range of your normal skills and experience.

The impartial and independent advice, information, casework support and representation offered will focus on access to legal housing /homelessness advice to overcome the practical barriers caused by the COVD19 pandemic/cost of living crisis and giving holistic and sustained support to overcome these. In line with S.Gov guidance & Public Health Scotland guidance, the Independent Homelessness Advice & Representation Prevention Service will be available at a range of easy access locations for the target group throughout Stirling Local Authority area. Training on legal housing/homelessness prevention issues & 2nd tier legal consultancy support will also be provided to Stirling CAB staff & volunteers and third sector stakeholders.
