Introduction

Do you thrive in a changing and dynamic environment? Are you passionate about the difference you could make to the lives of babies, children and young people and their families? Are you a creative person with the ability to engage and motivate people?

If so, a very rare and exciting opportunity has arisen within our organisation for an Activities Facilitator. We are looking for a dynamic and energetic person to join our Activities team in Rachel House. The candidate will be offered the chance to work with babies, children and young people and their families.

Key Responsibilities

As an Activities Facilitator, you will be part of a small team that will design and deliver a therapeutic play programme for referred children and siblings around emotional support and bereavement support. You will be working in collaboration with other team members, services and agencies ensuring that life enhancing activities will enrich the leisure, play and educational needs for all the babies, children, young people and their families.

About You

You will have excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable manner. You should ideally have relevant post-qualification experience of working with children or young people with complex care needs and experience of using therapeutic play with children and young people. You should be confident in working autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

About CHAS

At CHAS, staff and volunteers work together as one team, focused on the common goal of reaching every family in Scotland who needs our support. We have a 3:1 ratio of volunteers to staff members in CHAS. All CHAS staff will at some point work with or alongside volunteers and will be expected to support volunteers.

Our ambition is to reach every family in Scotland who is living with the heart-breaking prognosis that their child is dying, and offer them our care and support to empower them to make the most of the short time they have together. As an Activities Facilitator you will be instrumental in achieving this vision.
