Role

The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 54,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

RCGP Scotland is looking for a Projects & Initiatives Team Manager with demonstrable experience of leading a team successfully to develop and deliver a range of diverse projects and initiatives.

You will be a self-starter with the ability to work flexibly and on your own initiative, delivering high quality work to tight deadlines with competing demands. You will have the expertise to lead, motivate and develop your team and to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders alike.

You will have proven project management experience from preparation of project proposals through to implementation and completion, with the ability to oversee a range of projects concurrently, making strategic decisions and providing direction to your team.

This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in activities which support GPs at all stages of their career, and which will improve primary healthcare in Scotland.

This role is offered on a full-time basis 35 hours per week and is covering a period of maternity leave until January 2024. This role will involve hybrid working with a minimum of two working days in the Edinburgh office in the city centre. We offer flexible working hours Monday to Friday.

If you’re enthusiastic, driven, and want a role where you can really make a difference to the organisation and your own career, we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate will share our corporate values. In return, the College offers excellent terms and conditions.
