This is a new and exciting role within CVO East Ayrshire which is initially funded for one year. The Employability Grants Manager will work across the organisation with a remit to support the management of employability funding on behalf of the East Ayrshire Local Employability Partnership in addition to being a source of support for the sector locally.

CVO East Ayrshire acts as a conduit for the distribution of employability grants to the sector in East Ayrshire and ensures this is done fairly and efficiently while taking the opportunity to demonstrate the value and impact of the Sector as a delivery mechanism.

The post will be responsible for working with stakeholders, designing, managing and co-ordinating the implementation of funding processes. You will also have primary responsibility for drafting reports and performance updates for the CVO East Ayrshire Executive Team and the East Ayrshire Local Employability Partnership.

The Employability Grants Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day administration of a small grants programme including monitoring and evaluation to support the objectives of the Local Employability Partnership and meeting community needs.

This role will involve working proactively with voluntary organisations, community groups and statutory partners to support the growth of volunteering, social enterprise and the local third sector.

Based in the community you will have a wide-ranging remit to support individuals and third sector organisations on a variety of topics such as:

• the creation of new groups,
• volunteering,
• assisting organisations to find funding,
• supporting organisations to be well governed and managed
• helping organisations and community groups to be better connected and able to influence and contribute to public policy.

Through a place based approach, the Development Officer Capacity Building will support the development and sustainability of the local third sector by providing tailored organisational development support covering; governance, funding, socially enterprising activity, business planning, volunteering management and community leadership to create strong infrastructures to enable and empower third sector groups and organisations to take forward their aspirations of community ownership and community asset transfer.

This is a key role within our Empowering Communities Programme providing capacity building support services to be a catalyst in community regeneration and community ownership, encouraging community wealth and health building principles through learning and training opportunities, knowledge exchange and peer networking within the third sector and with local and national strategic partners.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to lead on growing funds through applications to charitable and grant-making Trusts. They will work with our Executive Management Team to identify projects and activities that require funding; compose high quality and timely written funding applications and match proposals to new and existing funders.

The successful candidate will have a track record of bringing in successful income growth; from charitable trusts and grant making organisations. They will have experience of translating complex information into inspiring written narratives and compelling cases for support through written proposals for fundraising.
