WorkingRite is one of the leading employability focussed charities in Scotland. Offering an innovative, relational and tailored approach, we provide support to young people in Scotland who need it most. With mentoring at the heart of our model, we meet young people where they are and support them towards the careers that are right for them.

We are seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead WorkingRite as a strong figurehead for the charity, providing leadership for the support of young people, placement employers, WR employees and volunteers.

The successful applicant will also be a positive ambassador to Central and Local Government and Funders, working on behalf of the Board of Trustees to develop and deliver the business plan and business strategy, ensuring the ongoing sustainability, growth and success of WorkingRite.

This post will be hybrid with base in Glasgow Office and is full time (37.5 hours) and permanent.

We require a CEO who can:

  • Lead the development and implementation of our strategic goals, objectives and financial plans
  • Manage the charity effectively, ensuring that its financial security, asset management and risk appraisal is planned, maintained and enhanced
  • Deliver growth towards sustainability via program delivery and fundraising, and actively create new opportunities for WorkingRite
  • Ensure effective internal infrastructure to deliver efficiently against goals, and with transparent reporting for the Team and Board
  • Take overall responsibility for achieving, monitoring and reporting on performance against targets in all areas of the charity’s activities
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement throughout all aspects of the Charity’s work.

You will have inspirational leadership qualities; excellent communication skills; an ability to plan, think and organise around solution focused outcomes; ability to set the vision, spot opportunities and ensure strategic alignment, have an in-depth understanding of youth employability and policy landscape at local and national levels; and a desire to achieve change for young people across Scotland.
