Space is a community anchor organisation supporting people and their families in South Edinburgh, with some of our services stretching city wide. Our mission is: ‘To build community connections that nurture, support & inspire, addressing social and economic issues so that everyone can fulfil their potential.’
Space delivers 22 projects, with around 70 staff and over 200 volunteers. We deliver diverse services supporting young people, families, older people and carers amongst others, engaging with local people more than 34,000 times last year.

The Role
We are looking for a creative person to join our team, working with all of our projects to ensure our stories are shared, increasing awareness of the fantastic work we do.
This is a very varied role, with no two days the same. The successful post holder will be organised with excellent communication skills, they’ll be able to demonstrate adaptability and a friendly, positive, can-do attitude.
The Marketing and Communications Officer will work with our various service delivery teams and take the lead on external and internal communications, reaching our stakeholders, funders, staff and volunteers. They will ensure our diverse range of services are visible on digital platforms and good old fashioned paper marketing resources.

The hours for this role will predominantly be Monday to Friday daytime, but there is a requirement within the role to be present at events so there will be occasional evening and weekend hours.
