BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

This is an exciting opportunity for an Employability Development Worker to join our Maximise Early Years project as part of the award winning Maximise! partnership between CHAI and Children 1st.

Are you passionate and committed to making a meaningful difference for families experiencing

multiple barriers to moving out of poverty?

The project takes a whole family, early intervention and trauma-informed approach to helping families who require some additional support to move out of poverty. The Employability Development Worker will support families across 5 Early Years Centres in the North of Edinburgh at Craigmillar, Fort, Granton, Greendykes and Moffat.

Using the holistic Maximise! model of Income Maximisation, Employability and Family Wellbeing support, the project aims to help families towards increased financial and social inclusion, better stability within family relationships, improved living conditions, and further skills development leading to progression along the employability pipeline.

Working as a key member of this multi-disciplinary team, the Employability Development

Worker will provide a flexible, needs-led employability service to parents according to wherever

they are on the employability pipeline. In partnership with families, team colleagues and

other stakeholders, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and further develop

the Maximise model of support.

Are you?:

• Passionate and committed to making a meaningful difference for families experiencing multiple barriers to moving out of poverty.

• Able to motivate, mentor and support adults looking to develop their confidence and skills and progress along the employability pathway.

• Enthusiastic about contributing to the delivery and further development of this already successful partnership service.

• Able to build trusting professional relationships.

• Understanding of people’s journeys and the challenges they have had in their lives, and how poverty and inequality can have an impact on them.
