Role

Are you caring, a team player and passionate about helping vulnerable people meet their housing needs?

Housing Support Fife is a service providing short term housing support in the Levenmouth area. Bethany Christian Trust is looking for a male support worker to be part of this team. The successful post holder will work as part of a team to provide flexible and creative support to vulnerable people to meet their housing needs.

You will have a proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. We would welcome applicants with lived experience of these issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential. An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Support Worker’ or the willingness to work towards this is desirable coupled with experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people.

As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010. Please note that one reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active Christian faith and commitment.

There is also an Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act that the post be filled by a male given the requirement to provide support to service users where a male support worker is required, and the need for additional male support workers on the team to enable that support to be provided.

Successful applicants for this post will require membership of the PVG scheme and registration with the SSSC.
