The Senior Development Officer role will work to deliver the strategic aims of the ALLIANCE. This includes an emphasis on the voice of lived experience, person-centredness and human rights. The ALLIANCE will be working with an increased focus on Health and Social Care Integration, the National Care Service, human rights incorporation and SNAP 2, and the National Performance Framework. The post holder will:

• Enhance the capacity of different stakeholders to engage with and contribute to health and social care integration with a focus on third sector and people with lived experience of accessing health and social care.
• Facilitate connections across the third sector.
• Enhance opportunities for peer learning, reflective practice and outcomes focused activity across the third sector and for the involvement of people with lived experience in shaping integrated health and social care in Scotland.

The successful candidate for this role should have:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent through experience
• Experience of relationship building and partnership working
• Excellent communication skills including report writing and delivering presentations
• Good leadership and organisational skills
• IT skills in word processing, email, internet, databases and presentations
• Experience of carrying out social research and consultation
• Experience of organising and facilitating workshops, groups and events
• Excellent networking, relationship building and information management skills

Are you a creative and motivated individual with the passion and drive to support people with a recent diagnosis of dementia to live well in their community?

If so, you can be part of a National Team of Post Diagnostic Support Link Workers (PDS Link Workers) providing high-quality, person-centred support to people living with dementia and their families for a minimum of a year following diagnosis in line the Scottish Government’s minimum guarantee.

The aim of the PDS National Service is to enable people to live well with dementia and is centred around Alzheimer Scotland's 5 pillar model so that people move on to a period of supported self- management.

The model includes understanding the illness and coming to terms with the diagnosis, peer support, connecting and maintaining links with their community along with planning for future care and decision making to develop an outcome focused plan to support their future hopes, desires and aspirations.

Supporting our Inverclyde locality, the post will be based within the Community Mental Health Team. Alzheimer Scotland’s PDS Link Workers are required to be effective team workers and have the skills to build and maintain relationships with colleagues both within Alzheimer Scotland, the NHS and other stakeholders.

Skills in using digital platforms are essential as we use a blended approach to support people that involve some virtual meetings and on-line groups.

Applicants must hold a recognised relevant professional qualification, have a good understanding of dementia and how it affects people and their families along with excellent communication skills, a warm flexible approach, combined with skills in empathy and relationship building.

In addition, you should have skills and knowledge at the Enhanced Level of the Promoting Excellence Framework or be able to evidence you are working towards its completion.

Excellent written communication, copy editing and proofing skills are essential for this post, and you will require to have previous experience in writing for a variety of different media channels. You will have the ability to convey complex medical information in accessible language and knowledge of the steps involved in producing information. You’ll have line management experience and the ability to review and give feedback on others’ work. Previous experience of working in cancer healthcare would be an advantage.

As Patient Information Manager you will have the opportunity to lead, develop and diversify the range and type of patient information we currently produce, working with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Managing the Patient Information Team, you will oversee the quality of all resources produced, ensuring compliance with recognised standards and internal brand requirements.

The Patient Information Manager will also be responsible for managing the information events team who hold digital and in person events for those affected by myeloma, working with the team to plan the programme for all events.

As a Myeloma Information Specialist you will provide a range of information and support on myeloma and related conditions to anyone affected by myeloma including patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.

You will be part of the team on the Myeloma UK Infoline, taking calls and responding to queries, and assisting in the development and monitoring of the Infoline and related services including Ask the Nurse and our Peer Network. You will require to develop an awareness of research and clinical developments and other initiatives in the field of myeloma and related conditions.
