Why apply for this role?
Children’s Hearings Scotland (CHS) is undergoing an exciting period of reform designed to transform the lives and outcomes of infants, children and young people who need the care and protection of the hearing system in Scotland.
Children’s Hearings tribunal panel members play a vital role in Scotland’s society. They listen and make legal decisions with and for infants, children and young people. They ensure that the child is at the heart of every decision taken – because every decision, no matter how big or small, has an impact.
As Change Manager you will play a critical role delivering organisational change at Childrens Hearing Scotland at a time of transformational change.
Your role
Reporting to the Senior Change Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for designing, leading and managing the change required at Childrens Hearings Scotland to deliver a quality based and sustainable tribunal system on behalf of the National Convenor that is underpinned by our respect for the infants, children and young people who use the system.
This is a new role at Childrens Hearings Scotland, and you will be joining at a pivotal point taking responsibility to support the implementation of a new operating model for the organisation, focused upon on children and their hearings.
Working closely with the Programme Management Office and colleagues locally and nationally, you will develop and manage change plans, and lead projects with an excellent understanding of change methodology and application.
Understanding how vital collaboration and engagement is with all stakeholders will be a core part of the role whilst anticipating and managing risk in the delivery of the change plan.
The successful candidate will be confident in data analysis and interpretation, as well as understanding the importance of defining and measuring success metrics and monitoring change.
About you
You will be a change leader, bringing energy, enthusiasm and a collaborative approach alongside a laser focus on the ‘why’ of change and how it relates to children and their hearings. Future orientated, you will have demonstrable experience of change management projects and applied methodologies.
You will have experience of leading, coaching and supporting others through change projects; identifying problems and solving them with agility and excellent project management rigour.
You will be an excellent communicator, able to communicate with confidence and listen deeply, welcoming diverse views and different thinking with respect. You will build links and grow networks across teams and organisations in the pursuit of shared aims, which will involve effectively initiating dialogue across the organisation and with key partners, to ensure we all recognise our shared responsibility to provide the best experience for children and their hearings.
A critical thinker, you will be digitally literate, comfortable with using system and management information to track the pace and performance of your change projects. Ideally you will have experience of or good knowledge of the sector and of the operating context of Childrens Hearings Scotland.
