Role
The Volunteering and Participation Development Officer is a new role within CVS Falkirk’s Empowering Communities Programme funded through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. The successful candidate will work across the Falkirk and District area and more specifically within two identified communities to support and develop volunteering by seeking to increase community participation and volunteering through community engagement, active citizenship, capacity building support, and the development of supportive infrastructures to enable and coordinate community led activities and engagement.
The Volunteering and Participation Development Officer will support groups and organisations to develop inclusive and meaningful opportunities and placements for people to become volunteers.

About you
We’re looking for someone to join our team with a strong belief in equality, human rights and social justice. You will have an understanding of the experiences, strengths and challenges faced by refugees, people seeking asylum, and other New Scots communities, and the motivation to support the development of the New Scots Edinburgh Refugee Integration Strategy, working closely with key stakeholders and statutory partners.
You will also work with colleagues to produce responses to public consultations and policy proposals from statutory partners in partnership with key third sector stakeholders.

The purpose of this role is to lead on three local networks made up of Community and Voluntary Sector organisations and statutory partners to support communities in meeting local needs through both collaboration and distribution of the Locality Activity Fund. These networks being known as local Consortia which operate across North Lanarkshire and support allocation of the Locality Activity Fund.
