Role

An exciting and highly rewarding opportunity has arisen to undertake a key role in leading and managing the delivery and development of high quality and innovative services and activities to people living with dementia and their families in Dumfries & Galloway. This role is pivotal to our success in achieving our strategy and vision for supporting people living with dementia in our localities.

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s leading dementia charity, offering specialist support services, community activities, information, and advice at every stage of the dementia journey from over 60 locations across Scotland from Shetland to the Borders. We campaign for the rights of people living with dementia and their families and provide an extensive range of innovative and personalised support.

Based in Dumfries, the Commissioned Service Lead will work with the Associate Executive Lead to ensure the delivery of several commissioned services across Dumfries & Galloway. Building upon strong local connections with donors, supporters, and other stakeholders, you will help create a self-sustaining model of activities and support that maximises the potential use of our fundraised income, resources, facilities, and expertise.

You will undertake a leading role in the delivery of person-centred services that support the outcomes for people living with dementia and ensures all services and activities are delivered within the Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Framework.

As Registered Manager you will maintain an overview of the two established Registered Day Care Services in both Dumfries and Stranraer as well as the network of activity groups across the area plus coordinate support from Dementia Advisors. You will work closely with the Associate Executive Lead in adopting a flexible approach to planning and service delivery, development and growth, as well as managing the service budgets. You will foster and enable a culture of positive engagement and effective collaboration both within your team and with Brain Health, Stakeholder Engagement, Post Diagnostic Support, Communications & Marketing and all other colleagues within the organisation as well as key external stakeholders.

You will be registered with the SSSC and have the experience and qualifications required for being a Registered Manager of adult services, plus experience of contract compliance and monitoring.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has the skills, experience, and talent to make a real difference to people’s lives that encourages a creative, innovative, and resourceful culture for your team, and others.

If you think this role is for you, or for someone you know, please get in touch.

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required and a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for the role.

The successful candidate will be subject to membership of the PVG scheme, and a scheme update will be undertaken through Disclosure Scotland.
