Role

We believe in children and our extensive range of projects and services across Scotland help to lift them out of all forms of poverty, abuse and discrimination. These services include Hear 4U an independent advocacy service for children and young people involved in the Children's Hearing System. Hear 4u works to ensure children's rights are promoted, protected and respected.

In this key role you will provide an independent advocacy service for children and young people from priority groups. Your role will be assisting children and young people to express their thoughts and views, ensuring that they can participate in the processes that affect their lives including the Children's Hearing System. You will also contribute to service development and evaluation. Experience of working directly with children, young people and families in a paid or voluntary setting will be essential, along with a sound understanding of child protection issues and a current driving license and access to a car for business purposes.

At Barnardo's we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. Our safer recruitment processes mean that the safety and welfare of the child is paramount at every stage of the process and therefore, we adopt rigorous scrutiny in our pre-employment checking. This post is subject to a range of pre-employment checks including a Criminal Records Enhanced Disclosure for the successful candidate.
