RSPB Scotland is collaborating with the people who live and work in Dundee to explore how saving nature can meet every challenge. We want to offer an exciting opportunity for two people experienced in Community Engagement to join our team and create a nature-positive impact in Dundee!
What are the roles about?
Our aim is to work with groups in Dundee to establish practical and meaningful ways to support people and nature in thriving together and empower communities to make nature-positive changes. We are currently setting up two projects in the city, both involving similar elements but with separate target audiences. Both positions will see the successful candidates lead on collaborative and community-led engagement to develop a better understanding of people’s connection to nature and shape how nature and people can thrive together.
We want two creative, passionate individuals to bring these projects to life, bringing energy, fresh ideas and problem-solving skills. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
This post is managed by the Dundee Project Manager, who will be on hand to support you regularly in this role.
There will be a need to travel within Dundee frequently to liaise with communities and organisations regularly.
What we need from you
You will lead on all agreed project outcomes and work independently to drive forward our community-led projects in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
Therefore, you will have:
· Good knowledge of Dundee and community priorities.
· Experience in working with the public and partners to deliver events/activities that engage a wide range of people.
· Ability to motivate a wide range of people face to face.
· Proven time management and organisational skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, and able to communicate about your work in a passionate and credible manner.
· Ability to work creatively and under own initiative.
· Ability to develop and work in partnerships.
· Experience with recruiting and working with volunteers.
· Competent IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office).
