RAMH FIRST Crisis Service operates in Partnership with Renfrewshire HSCP. FIRST Crisis delivers an immediate, short-term crisis response to people in Renfrewshire who are experiencing a crisis in their mental health. The service is provided predominantly via telephone support, complemented by appointments to RAMH HQ or outreach support as required. We aim to support people to recover from periods of crisis and regain control of their lives. FIRST Crisis strives to do so utilising a strengths based, recovery oriented approach, encouraging individuals who access the service to develop or build on effective selfmanagement strategies.
We are seeking to recruit a senior crisis worker who is able to work both on their own initiative and as part of a small team in provision of crisis support to a client group with diverse and complex needs. We are seeking to appoint a highly organised and motivated individual. You will require an in-depth understanding of key presenting issues, risk assessment, crisis resolution and management and an awareness of Mental Health issues would be helpful.
You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain and promote effective working relationships with our partners in the public and third sectors.
The post holder will be required to effectively assess the support needs of clients, and decide on an appropriate course of action. Excellent verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to keep clear and concise written records of your client contact. The position requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in community based mental health service provision, and 6 months’ crisis experience preferred, alongside relevant qualification to at least SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
RAMH FIRST Crisis operates 365 days, Mon-Fri 9am-8pm and Sat-Sun 9am-5pm.The Manager will support the service over the week. Evening and weekend work are an essential requirement of this post.
