Do you want to be part of a new project and lead on testing the concept of this initiative?
Do you want to utilise your skills to make a real difference to your local community?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Community Links team to support people waiting on secondary care appointments
About the project
Cyrenians have received 12 months funding to ‘Test the Concept’ of a service providing 1:1 support and structured group activity to people on the waiting list for adult mental health services.
The aim of this innovative project is to provide people with coping strategies while awaiting their first appointment, reducing the demand on crisis intervention services. The role will also add value to our existing Community Links work (where the referrals will come from) and support the work of Mental Health Nurses.
About the role
Working from our offices in Arnotdale House in Dollar Park Falkirk your role will be varied and you will work with individuals in a 1:1 or group activity setting by providing structure and support. The focus will be on developing individual’s mental wellbeing, self-management, self-worth and coping strategies as they await their secondary care appointment
About you
You will be enthusiastic, energised and self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills. You will have a genuine interest in working with people and enjoy the challenge of working autonomously in a new and innovative project.
You will have experience of working with people who are experiencing complex social and emotional circumstances, and a strong understanding of the challenges faced by people living in areas of deprivation.
How we will support you
We will encourage you to be creative and innovative in your approach to supporting people. You will be part of the Community Links Team and have a supportive line manager to help you develop and grow in your role.
You will be trained in Decider Skills which will be a key tool in the project delivery. You’ll also have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning and development programme, and staff wellbeing services.
About us
At Cyrenians we tackle the causes and consequences of homelessness. We understand that there are many routes into homelessness, and that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to supporting people towards more positive and stable futures.
