Role

Every day people with chest, heart and stroke conditions are leaving hospital scared and alone. You can be part of our mission to make sure that there is no life half lived in Scotland.

By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Community Support Services Manager you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our Hospital to Home services form a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.

We offer vital advice, support and information to those with chest, heart, stroke and long covid conditions so that they can live their best lives, manage their condition and influence public policy to ensure that people get the services that they need. Our renewed ambition is to become Scotland’s leading organisation for person-centred, user-led community support for people with our health conditions.

The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery and ongoing development of CHSS community-based support services in the North of Scotland, with a focus on enabling people with our conditions to live with and beyond their new reality and self-manage their condition.

The postholder will manage a team of Community Support Coordinators across Grampian, Highlands and Islands and will be a visible and vocal advocate for the charity to maintain our position as the key 3rd sector partner within geographic systems of health and social care.

The postholder will demonstrate the impact of our services and develop and maintain local and national relationships to ensure the long-term success of the charity and the delivery of our No Life Half Lived Strategy.

Please see the role profile to view the key accountabilities, key challenges and required skills and experience.

CHSS employees enjoy a variety of organisational benefits including: Company pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, company sick pay, employee welfare support and life assurance.

CHSS also supports flexible recruitment through Working Families and we are “Happy to Talk Flexible Working”.

In line with our commitment to safeguarding, this role is subject to a Basic Disclosure check. CHSS is committed to equality of opportunity and to providing a service which is free from unfair and unlawful discrimination.
