Role
Glasgow North East Carers Centre, as part of the Glasgow City Carers Partnership, provides practical and emotional supports to unpaid family Carers, who look after a family member or friend who cannot manage alone due to illness or disability.
We are currently recruiting for Family Support Workers who will work with Carers and wider family members to prepare Carer Support Plans and Young Carer Statements,
These will focus on personal outcomes and changes which are important to Carers in their lives, helping them to maintain a life outside of their caring role, and their own health and wellbeing. This will include signposting to and securing services from, a range of differing organisations.
Our Family Support Workers will demonstrate:
- great teamwork skills when working alongside other team members
- extensive organisational skills and attention to detail when completing formal paperwork
- strong interpersonal skills when representing and promoting our organisation and it’s work
- the ability to show empathy and understanding when dealing with our service users
- attention to detail when contributing to monitoring and reporting responsibilities

Lead Parent/Carer & Autism Family Support Worker

Glasgow East End Community Carers are looking for an experienced person to lead on our work with parent/carers and our Autism Family Support programme.
We have a large group of parent/carers who have children with autism, and they come looking for advice, information and support as they deal with the challenges of supporting their child/ren with autism.
We provide a programme of supports which include:
Play Sense – a weekly pre-school age play group
Family Activity Programme – a range of events, outings, day-trips, sports etc for children with autism and their parents.
Autism Training – a programme of training sessions which covers a wide range of topics relating to autism, ADHD etc.
Autism Helpline – a schedule of 30 min conversations with an Autism specialist for personalised advice and support.
Autism Peer Support group – a monthly group to allow parent/carers to meet and chat and support each other.
Autism Family WhatsApp group/PlaySense WhatsApp group – where parent/carers can encourage and support each other and keep in touch with the centre.
This role would be to lead on the delivery of this programme with the support of two support workers and our child-care workers.
The Lead role is responsible to the Carers Hub Manager, and the role is based at our Carers Hub at 26 Penston Road, Glasgow G33 4AG.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, self-motivated finance professional to join our long-standing charity and take the lead on our finance function. This role is ideal for a highly capable individual with strong accounting or finance expertise who thrives in a nurturing team environment and is eager to make a meaningful impact and contribution to a community focused organisation.
As Finance Manager you will oversee all aspects of financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data and reporting. Your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day finance activities, preparing fully accrued monthly management accounts for the board, and producing a trial balance with supporting evidence for the annual audit. You will also collaborate with external auditors to meet reporting requirements.
Additionally, you will collate payroll to issue to our external payroll provider, oversee pension contributions, and contribute to HR systems and records. You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Trustees to ensure effective credit control and financial administration.
As a community based, people focused organisation we prioritise wellbeing and professional development of our team. Staff are given a ‘winter wellbeing’ day to use as they wish over the autumn/winter months, in addition to a generous annual leave allocation of 28 days plus 12 days public holidays (pro rata’d) which increases with service.

The Programme Lead for Scotland will be an entrepreneurial, driven and creative leader responsible for the development and delivery of key national programmes, ensuring that lived experience is at the heart.
