The Gardener’s role is to manage and maintain the gardens and woodland at Camas and Iona.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining the Camas organic garden and woodlands.
• Managing the small Iona Abbey garden through regular visits and work
• Facilitating the use of the garden as a space for engagement
• Supporting staff and visitors to feel confident in being part of the daily upkeep of the garden, knowing when to pick and use produce and teaching basic gardening skills

About the Role:

We’re seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Administrator to join our team. You will play a crucial role in supporting the Service Manager in completing salaries, stats, quarterly reports, and any other admin duties.

About You

Drawing on your past experience of providing a high standard of customer service in a similar role, you will be well versed in Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to adapt to shifting priorities. Tiree Community Development Trust (known as “Urras Thiriodh”) are seeking a Head of Comms and Gaelic to take on a lead role in delivering our ambitious ongoing community development work for the beautiful and vibrant Inner Hebridean island of Tiree.

The newly created role combines management and direct project delivery work and would suit a candidate with relevant experience, strong Scots Gaelic language skills, and a pro-active approach looking to take on a challenge in a unique, bustling and diverse community development environment. You’d join a strong established team with a track record of delivering ambitious projects and vital community services, with the goal of ensuring the sustainable development of a small island community, making Tiree the best possible place to live, work and grow. The role involves working across our company group to support communications with key stakeholders, and with a key focus on embedding the use of Gaelic across our work and ensuring ongoing efforts to retain Gaelic as a living community language.

This position is for our Oban service and requires 20 hours per week. This role will follow a nightshift working pattern of two 10 hour shifts per week, 10pm until 8am on a rolling rota which includes some weekends.
