CashBack Connections Coordinator

CashBack Connections supports young people (aged 10-16) across deprived areas of Lanarkshire who are at risk of involvement in antisocial behaviour/offending by providing one-to-one and group befriending/mentoring opportunities. The project aims to guide young people away from negative influences and towards positive pathways of their choosing, while also supporting families facing challenges such as poverty, poor mental health, or substance misuse.

Young people will take part in activities that interest them, helping them to gain new experiences, develop skills, build confidence, and (importantly) have fun. Alongside developing trusting relationships with volunteers and peers, the project will reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and strengthen community connections. Where appropriate, families will also be offered support to address barriers affecting a young person’s progress.

With the delivery of the project about to begin, COVEY is now seeking a compassionate, skilled and proactive CashBack Connections Coordinator to lead the delivery of the project.

The CashBack Connections Coordinator will develop and deliver a blend of group support and one-to-one befriending and mentoring support, using a relationship-based and trauma-informed approach to build trust, strengthen resilience and promote positive engagement.

They will work closely with Service Managers, Family Support Workers, Volunteers and Group Facilitators to ensure safe, effective and high-quality delivery that aims to reduce the risk of antisocial behaviour/offending, helping young people to realise their potential and move towards education/training or employment.

A key part of the role will involve coordinating and supporting Volunteers and Group Facilitators, maintaining strong safeguarding practice and ensuring all activity is impactful and aligned with COVEY’s values. For young people with more complex needs, the Coordinator will collaborate with COVEY’s Family Support team to provide integrated, whole-family interventions, including more intensive support during periods of heightened risk or early intervention to prevent escalation.

As this is a new project, the role offers an exciting opportunity to bring fresh ideas, shape the development of CashBack Connections and directly influence the positive outcomes we aim to achieve for disadvantaged young people and their families.

The Role

The Operations Manager’s role is to support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), by managing all operational aspects of Trust in Fife so that it achieves its objective of supporting homeless people, those who may be threatened with homelessness and disadvantaged people and in so doing meets its contractual obligations, financial commitments and regulatory requirements.

Maintaining registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and a suitable PVG return are also requirements for the role. You will be required to take part in an on call service (one week in ten) for on call for our Housing Support Services.

As part of our cross-cutting Influencing objective, this role will support the development and delivery of the Trust’s direct influencing activity, working with partners and stakeholders to influence decision making and systems change.

The Role

This role supports the Programmes Manager (Social Change Movements) and the wider organisation to strengthen the Trust’s influencing work in preventing and reducing poverty and trauma in Scotland.

You will help to develop and test effective approaches to direct influencing and support the Trust to build relationships with those who have the power to deliver change. You will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure influencing activity connects with our wider work, including communications, convening, the influencing work we fund and the learning from our funding.

You will also support stakeholder engagement, network development and policy insight, helping the Trust identify opportunities to influence policy, practice and decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of direct influencing activity aligned to the Trust’s influencing objective

• Work collaboratively across the Trust to ensure direct influencing activity connects with communications, convening and the indirect influencing work we fund

• Support the development of influencing plans and help test effective approaches to influencing

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of poverty and trauma and the policy, political and practice landscape in Scotland.

You will bring:

• HNC/D, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Relevant experience in a field related to poverty and/or trauma

• A strong understanding of the voluntary sector in Scotland

• Experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and networks

Our Short Term Housing programme provides a link between private property owners and tenants. Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Effective engagement with landlords and letting agents in the management of properties, ensuring they are fit for purpose and comply with legal, health and safety and corporate standards.
  • Maintaining occupancy levels through efficient allocation and void management of properties.

About the team

Our Policy & Participation Team helps develop Cyrenians’ work to influence policy and systems change through learning from lived and professional experience.

Based within Cyrenians’ Outreach pillar, we work closely with services across the whole organisation, as well as external stakeholders and partners, including national and local government, funders and other third sector organisations.

The team currently consists of a Policy & Participation Manager and Youth Participation Lead.

We cover three main projects:

  • The Scottish Frontline Network: Part of a UK wide network for frontline professionals who support people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. We facilitate free events and training opportunities, providing a regular opportunity for frontline workers in Scotland to network, share expertise and link to policy makers.
  • All in for Change: A platform for lived and professional experience of homelessness in Scotland. The programme is co-facilitated by Cyrenians and Homeless Network Scotland and led by the Change Team – a group of around 25 people who bring their own unique experience and expertise of homelessness to influence policy change.
  • Youth Participation: taking a youth work approach, we provide opportunities for young people supported by Cyrenians to share their experience and expertise and influence change in policy and practice in areas such as youth homelessness, The Promise, neurodiversity etc.

In addition to delivering the projects above, the team works closely with the Press & Public Affairs Manager on influencing opportunities and – when capacity allows – supports other policy and participation initiatives across Cyrenians’ services, e.g. cross-organisational responses to public policy consultations.

About the role

This is a new role created to mainly support delivery on two of our participation projects: the Scottish Frontline Network and All in For Change.

Working closely with the Policy & Participation Manager, you will deliver activities across both projects. The main focus will be to create safe and inclusive ways for people with experience of homelessness and frontline staff to share their expertise and influence change. Key activities will include organising and facilitating various types of engaging events, workshops, focus groups and meetings (both online and in-person) for frontline professionals and people with lived experience of homelessness.

As this is a new post and there will be scope to shape the position depending on your own interests and experience. We are keen to support you to try things out and bring your own ideas to the table.

Scotland’s first Bairns Hoose was opened in 2023 in North Strathclyde and since then has continued to place the best interests of the child at the centre of all the systems that are there to protect them and to offer the child and their family or caregivers all the support they need.

Our North Strathclyde Bairns Hoose is an innovative partnership between Children First, 4 Local Authorities ( East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, Inverclyde, and East Dunbartonshire), Police Scotland, SCRA, Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service, and Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service.

Bairns Hoose is based on the European Barnahus model. Barnahus is a child-friendly, multidisciplinary, and interagency model of justice, care and recovery for children who are victims and witnesses of all forms of violence. A place where all Police, Social Work, Health, Court and Recovery services are based under one roof. Children receive a coordinated trauma responsive plan to support their journey through the care, protection, and justice system. The aim of the model is to prevent re-traumatisation caused by delayed and disjointed investigation and court proceedings; to keep children safe; allow them access to fair justice and to help them recover from the trauma of their ordeal.

We are currently looking for the right person to join our team on a temporary basis whilst a colleague is on Maternity Leave.

The Robertson Trust is looking for two Programmes Officers (Social Change Movements) to join our new Programmes team. Based primarily at Robertson House, Glasgow, with hybrid working available, this role supports the Trust to secure big change that lasts in preventing and reducing poverty and trauma in Scotland.

As a member of the team, you will support the delivery of our new approach to ‘social movement funding’, a new part of our Programme Awards funding stream.

The Role

The Programmes Officers will support the Programmes Manager (Social Change Movements) to contribute to the development and delivery of our ‘social movement funding’ approach, our most proactive Programme Award work, aligned to our long-term change priorities.

You will contribute to influencing and social change activity, particularly through the projects we fund, build strong relationships with grantholders and stakeholders, and support the effective development, assessment and management of both our ‘social change movement’ Programme Awards and our wider Programme Award portfolio.

You will gather and apply insight to strengthen programme development and learning, contribute to meaningful participation of people with lived experience, and work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure our programme work is informed, connected and effective.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of our new ‘social movements funding’ approach – our most proactive Programme Award cohorts aligned to long-term change priorities

• Contribute to identifying and supporting influencing opportunities, particularly through funded projects

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with grantholders, stakeholders and experts by experience

• Support the development, assessment and management of Programme Awards in line with governance and good practice

• Gather and apply insight to inform programme development and organisational learning

• Contribute to participation and engagement with people with lived experience

• Support monitoring, review and learning processes to ensure programme activity remains aligned and impact focused

• Represent the Trust externally as required and contribute to cross-cutting organisational priorities

About You

We are looking for someone with knowledge of the Trust’s mission on poverty and trauma and an understanding of the third sector and independent funding landscape in Scotland and across the UK.

You will bring:

• HNC/D, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Relevant experience in a field related to poverty and/or trauma

• Experience contributing to programmes, projects or initiatives with demonstrable impact or influence

• An understanding of effective and relational funding practice

• Experience or understanding of funding processes such as assessment, decision making or grant management

• Insight into inequality, poverty or trauma through lived, paid or voluntary experience

• Strong analytical skills, sound judgement and attention to detail

• The ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders

• The confidence to manage competing priorities and use your own initiative

• High emotional intelligence and the ability to relate to people from different backgrounds

• An interest in Scotland’s policy and political landscape and the potential to develop political judgement

You will be adaptable, collaborative and aligned to the Trust’s values.

Benefits

• Salary £41,104 to £48,715 FTE

• This role is advertised as full-time, but we are open to applicants who wish to work part-time.
