About Aberlour Youthpoint Moray
Our Youthpoint Moray service provides help to children and young people in Moray who may be struggling with their emotions and behaviour, prompting concerns about their well-being. Our young people’s workers provide one-to-one and group work support for our children and young people, in a safe and relaxed setting. They help them to understand the issues that are affecting them, that can sometimes be the cause of their behaviour. They help them take steps to overcoming their difficulties at home, school and in the community. The team also work with other family members, parents and carers to improve relationships at home.
Aberlour Youthpoint Moray provides three services to young people in Moray; Intensive Community Support (ICS), Early Help and Mentoring and YP Zone.
The Intensive Community Support service funded by The Moray Council works closely with social work teams with young people and families to support young people and families to achieve their full potential and develop important life skills through non-formal educational activities. ICS also supports young people and families to enable positive change and improve outcomes. This is delivered via 1 to 1’s, group work, and family support.
Early Help and Mentoring service provides support to disadvantaged, excluded and vulnerable young people and their families to enable them to gain and retain control of their own lives and remain safely in their own homes and communities. Early Help and Mentoring support young people to improve their health and wellbeing, make positive and informed choices and develop their self-awareness and confidence. Early Help is delivered by Young People’s Worker’s through 1 to 1, group work and family support. Mentoring and befriending are delivered by volunteers on a 1 to 1 basis.
YP Zone provides targeted 1:1 support for young people who are affected by their own substance use through a harm reduction approach. The service offers relationship-based, strengths-focused emotional support tailored to individual needs, helping young people to better understand and reduce substance use, improve their wellbeing, and develop healthier coping strategies.
What we are looking for....
You will work 22.5 hours per week, across our Intensive Community Support service and your main role will be to provide one to one and group work support to young people and their parents as identified through appropriate referrals. You will plan and deliver activities and groups in partnership with young people and their parents in relation to their needs. You will work within a variety of locations in the Moray area. You will need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle to be able to take young people out and about. The role will also involve liaising with partner agencies and entering data into Aberlour’s case recording information system.
The team will provide support both within and out with normal office hours, dependent on the needs of young people and families. This may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. All staff are expected to take a full and active role in the delivery of the service.

The role of Counselling Practice Manager
The Counselling Practice Manager will lead and manage Murray’s Initiative’s Integrated Counselling Services, which includes commissioned counselling services for adults seeking support for their alcohol and / or drug use and a privately funded wellbeing counselling service.
The Counselling Practice Manager will manage and support all counsellors working in Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire and North Lanarkshire, student placements from the Murray’s Initiative Diploma and volunteer counsellors. The post holder will contribute to service delivery by managing a small caseload of clients. The post holder will support the Head of Client Services/Deputy CEO in managing and co-ordinating a high-quality service within Murray’s Initiative, whilst ensuring that staff counsellors, volunteers, and students receive appropriate supervision, support, and guidance.
As part of the Service Management Team, the Counselling Practice Manager will develop, influence and drive forward the strategy for Murray’s Initiative.
The Counselling Practice Manager will report to the Head of Client Services / Deputy CEO.

About the Role:
The role of the counsellor is to provide a counselling, advice and information service for individuals aged 16 and over with their own problematic alcohol or drugs use. The service is delivered from our offices in Glasgow and within community settings throughout Glasgow and surrounding areas.
The Counsellor will report to the Counselling Practice Manager.
This post requires a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership - successful applicants will be required to join the PVG Scheme for both adults and children.
You will work closely with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to help identify energy saving opportunities that deliver carbon and cost savings. You will provide support to help SMEs to overcome barriers to the installation of low carbon technologies (e.g heat pumps and heat pump enabling measures such a building fabric insulation).
You will also provide advice and support on a wider range of technologies to SMEs, helping business to save energy and reduce the cost of their energy bills. This will be done through 1-2-1 conversations, in person events, online webinar training and desk top reviews of technical specifications.
You will be a central part of helping the service deliver effective, high-quality advice and support to enable the installation energy efficiency, low carbon heat and renewables projects, making SMEs more competitive and helping them on their journey towards Net Zero.
