To work directly with neurodivergent children and young people (diagnosed and self-identifying) up to age 25. This role encompasses a variety of person-centred support offers (both in-person and remote), including 1:1 issue-based advocacy, coaching support, non-instructed advocacy and transitions.

As our service develops, some elements of the role may involve working with small groups of neurodivergent children and young people. Whilst travel will predominantly be required across the areas highlighted above, further travel across Scotland may be required to meet the needs of children and young people in service.

You will support neurodivergent children and young people to identify the challenges they face and work collaboratively with them to develop plans that promote positive outcomes, uphold their rights, and support their wellbeing. This may include helping them to understand their neurotype, recognise their strengths and support needs, and communicate these effectively to others so they are well supported across all areas of their lives. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of resources.

We support children and young people through in-person sessions, virtual meetings, phone calls, email, and text. You will be an excellent communicator, able to adapt your approach to build strong, trusting relationships with neurodivergent children and young people, and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.

This post may occasionally require weekend and/or evening work and will involve significant travel within the central belt. Our Children and Young People Specialists support young people in person and remotely. The post involves hybrid working, working from home and from our office in Edinburgh when required, as well as travel to support young people in person, including at meetings or in group settings.

Your Role: Your Strengths

As Project Officer you will be an integral part of the CJS Engagement & Improvement Team. You will report to an Improvement Lead and work closely with the Engagement & Improvement Team and across all teams to develop CJS’s strategic approach to the delivery and oversight of projects and plans and supporting their delivery across the organisation.

The Projects Officer is a key role in Community Justice Scotland and involves supporting project leads to plan, monitor and evaluate project work across the organisation. As the main point of contact for all projects work you will be able to monitor multiple projects, having oversight of project plans and supporting project documentation, such as risk registers, PIDs, progress reports and impact assessments.

You will be able to advise and support project leads to successfully deliver on their projects. You will have experience of supporting and monitoring project work and providing information to managers to help mitigate issues and challenges. This is a dual role that will include supporting the Policy & Improvement Team and the wider organisation by enhancing our in-house capacity to monitor and report on information that will drive improvement and change and realise the organisation’s business and corporate plan ambitions.

The role will also work closely with project leads and senior management to bolster capacity for project delivery across the organisation and respond to emerging issues.

You will work across the organisation, supporting colleagues in every team as appropriate to inform and drive forward CJS projects and plans. You will support delivery and evaluation of the Engagement & Improvement Team’s approach to engagement with local community justice stakeholders.

You will have excellent time management and organisation skills and an ability to communicate to a range of audiences.

You will have experience of working in a project environment and applying improvement approaches to help support and inform decision making.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about evidence-based reform, continuous improvement, and delivering better outcomes for people in contact with the justice system.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will lead in the gathering, managing, and reporting of CJS corporate project information. You will provide support to project leads across CJS and will play a key role in identifying, analysing, and escalating key information that enables a full understanding of corporate project activity and outcomes and supports decision making. Your Role: Your Strengths

The Learning Support Officer is a key role in Community Justice Scotland and involves supporting our Learning, Development, Innovation & Caledonian (LDIC) team to manage online, blended and face to face learning material and assist with both the dissemination of training materials and monitoring deadlines for submissions of work by students.

You will maintain the LDIC Learning Management System. You will also send reminders to students at key points in their journey through our blended learning products.

You will be able to advise and support LDIC in successfully delivering their training. You will have experience of managing a learning platform and provide timely information to trainers to help mitigate issues and challenges.

The role will require regular liaison with our external stakeholders and dealing with queries submitted by them relating to content and access to the Learning Management System.

You will have excellent time management and organisation skills and an ability to communicate to a range of audiences.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will assist with the organisation of online, blended and face to face learning. You will be responsible for the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS), maintaining the records of students participating in courses run or facilitated by Community Justice Scotland. These courses are aimed at diverse stakeholders across the community justice sector and include eLearning products, blended learning products as well as classroom-based learning. The sending out of relevant materials in advance of courses will also be of key importance to ensure that students are given a high-quality learning experience.

We are currently looking to appoint a Treasurer to join our small Board. The Treasurer will be responsible for managing all financial matters on behalf of our organisation and will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation has robust financial processes to ensure it meets its legal and constitutional requirements. It will also be the responsibility of the Treasurer to report the financial position at the board meetings. While we encourage and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, we are keen to hear from candidates that have experience of charity financial management or are chartered in a suitable accountancy field.

All Trustees are required to attend monthly board meetings, either at our office located in the heart of Glasgow city centre or via Zoom. In addition, we ask Trustees to attend our annual board development day, important meetings with stakeholders and some events and projects, where possible. As Ricefield Arts is a social enterprise, the role also involves serving as our Board of Directors.

Please note that this is a voluntary role. Neither the Trustees nor Board of Directors receive any remuneration, however, travel expenses incurred in carrying out board duties will be fully reimbursed.

FareShare Glasgow of the West of Scotland (FSGWS):

FSGWS, a social enterprise operated by Move On redistributes quality surplus food to charities feeding people at risk of food insecurity and provides a wide range of training and employability opportunities from its South St Depot. FSGWS redistributes surplus food across 13 local authority areas, reaching over 80,000 beneficiaries every week. Serving meals is a way for organisations to directly engage with the people they support and using FareShare food enables them to redirect funds into improving their own services, benefiting individuals and strengthening communities.

The Coronation Food Project (CFP):

The CFP is a partnership between Felix/FareShare UK and the King Charles III Charitable Fund, with three main aims:

  • Saving more surplus food.
  • Supercharging food distribution networks to ensure surplus produce can reach those who need it most, through the creation of Coronation Food Hubs (CFH).
  • Delivering a flexible funding programme to support the wider sector and a consortium of pioneering food-rescue initiatives.

Glasgow has been chosen to be one of ten Hubs and investment has been secured to fund the capital and a proportion of the revenue costs of the Glasgow Hub for the next 3 years. During this period we will be increasing all income streams to ensure long-term sustainability. The capital build phase, due to complete in April, will deliver high quality premises for our surplus food activities, while at the same time expanding and developing our employability, training and volunteering opportunities. Our new kitchen and training spaces also offer huge potential for engaging new corporate partners.
