We are seeking an exceptional individual to be part of our team at our Care Inspectorate registered residential rehabilitation service in West Aberdeenshire. You'll be supported by a charitable organisation with extensive experience in launching and managing top-tier registered care services.

Aligned with our vision of empowering individuals impacted by substance use and associated needs, we're collaborating with national and local partners to deliver safe and effective residential care services. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that every individual we support receives the highest quality of care and guidance.

Your role in our therapeutic community will be key. You will manage a caseload, assess the people who use our service and manage their recovery/care plans. It will mean developing and applying a range of therapeutic approaches to meet their individual needs, whether that’s employment, education, health etc. You’ll be the one who sees that everything is coordinated from the moment they’re referred to us to the time that they move home.

As a Therapeutic Worker, you will support individuals accessing the residential rehabilitation programme to achieve outcomes that help create long-term recovery. Using the Therapeutic Community “community as method” model you will empower individuals, families and communities to be confident about recovery.

You will support the day to day running of the therapeutic community, ensuring residents’ needs are met and the best possible care is provided in an environment that promotes a culture of recovery. Whilst also being confident to deliver therapeutic groups, activities, and specialist interventions in accordance with the TC manual and the needs of the service.

Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. Therapeutic Workers come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the skills required. We are seeking dedicated individuals, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to our residents.

You will be expected to work a rolling rota which includes evening and weekend working.

About You

To join us as a Therapeutic Worker at Rae House, you will need:

  • An understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals within drug and alcohol recovery.
  • An understanding of working with individuals in the substance use sector or related field.
  • The ability to be innovative and be flexible in order to meet the needs of the service.
  • Be able to work effectively with multi-agencies, whilst maintaining the excellent reputation of the service.
  • Knowledge of adult protection is essential as you will be working with vulnerable adults in a residential setting.

Our Service is a busy respite care unit for children and young people with additional support needs, including complex learning and physical disabilities. As well as providing short residential breaks the service offers outreach to families and is also involved in the managing and running of an after school club as well as a busy Easter and Summer play scheme.

Based in a quiet, residential street in Prestwick, our disability support service offers a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us there.

What we are looking for...

As a Young People’s Worker you will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives, in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal and emotional care. We support young people who have Epilepsy, need personal care and need gastrostomy feeding. Aberlour, in conjunction with NHS, provide all staff with training.

If you have an interest in working with young people, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for a Young People’s Worker to work Wakened Night Shifts on a part time basis (averaging 30 hours per week). These hours will be worked as part of a two week rolling rota whereby you will work three shifts one week and two shifts the following. Shifts are 11 or 12 hours each.

Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ 3 in Care plus an HNC) together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by disability as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop opportunities for diverse faith communities to engage in the wider fairness agenda within the city, with a particular focus on poverty and inequality.

The Faith Forum is a newly formed (January 2024) forum of Faith Leaders from across the city. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

Remake are at an exciting point of growth planning and are seeking to undertake a compliance review across the organisation to ensure we are meeting best working practices ahead of potential expansion. This one-year post will support the implementation of inclusive, safe, and legally compliant practices across Remake and ensure that best practice policies and operating procedures are in place. Key focus areas will include health & safety, waste management, data protection, cyber security and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

As this is a one-year post, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, the post will crucially focus on implementing robust systems to ensure that compliance standards can be maintained once the post concludes. This is crucial to managing organisational risk and supporting Remake to pursue our expansion strategy confident in our ability to meet compliance standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is values-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating safe and inclusive community spaces. Due to the limited funding period, we are looking for someone who can bring strong working knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation and with experience in managing organisational compliance systems.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance coordination:

  • Review and evaluate compliance standards across the organisation with emphasis on health & safety, waste management, data protection, cyber security, EDI & safeguarding and identify improvement requirements.
  • Work with team members to clearly communicate key improvement areas and the systems and processes required to meet these to ensure that compliance becomes embedded in team culture.
  • Work with team members to improve compliance standards by developing processes and procedures to ensure that accurate and appropriate administration systems and record keeping are in place.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Board of Trustees to review and update internal policies, procedures, and risk assessments to meet best practice.

  • Explore digital management systems to enable compliance standards to be maintained and to support early identification of relevant legislative changes.
  • Work alongside the General Manager & Finance Coordinator to support with the development of an appropriate budget for the organisation’s compliance and training needs in alignment with financial planning processes.
  • Support with grant funding requirements by tracking grant spending across the year and monitor and evaluate budgetary performance in line with financial review processes.
  • Support with grant funding requirements through monitoring and evaluation of the project outcomes and their impact in supporting the strategic aims and KPI’s of the organisation.
