The Advocacy Project

Delivery Manager

  • The Advocacy Project
  • Full time
  • £35,689 – £38,159
  • On site: Glasgow
  • Closing 6th November 2026

At The Advocacy Project, we pride ourselves on being a great place to work and put the people we support at the centre of everything we do. We are an independent advocacy charity providing one-to-one advocacy for adults across Glasgow, East Renfrewshire and Renfrewshire.

We support people to have their voices heard in decisions about their care, treatment and lives, particularly when they may otherwise find it difficult to be heard. Our work is guided by our values of fairness, independence, inclusion and resilience.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Delivery Manager to lead our Glasgow team of advocates and ensure our busy, fast-moving service runs effectively. Referrals arrive steadily, often at short notice, and may relate to mental health tribunals, adult support and protection, and other time-critical processes. You will make sure the right advocate reaches the right person at the right time, while maintaining high standards of independent advocacy practice.

What you'll do

  • Lead, line manage and support a team of advocates, including supervision, caseload oversight and staff wellbeing
  • Manage referral flow and allocate work so urgent cases are covered and caseloads remain manageable
  • Ensure practice meets independent advocacy principles and standards
  • Retrieve and maintain accurate service data; analyse referral volumes, caseloads, performance and outcomes to identify trends and pressure points; and produce timely monitoring reports for commissioners and internal stakeholders.
  • Build effective working relationships with health and social care and other partner organisations
  • Help shape the service as demand and commissioning requirements evolve

What we're looking for

  • Experience of leading and supervising staff in a frontline service
  • Sound judgement under pressure, with the ability to reprioritise quickly
  • A clear understanding of independent advocacy, or experience in a closely related field such as social care, mental health or rights-based work
  • Confidence using case management systems and service data
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 applications and other IT systems
  • A strong commitment to placing the people we support at the centre of everything we do

This role would suit someone who remains calm and focused in a busy environment, protects their team’s capacity and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for people who use the service. In return, we offer a generous package of salary, pension, dynamic working, annual leave, CPD, and a wellbeing package.

We are a disability and carer-positive employer and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and a PVG check.

Greener Kirkcaldy

Caretaker and Facilities Assistant

  • Greener Kirkcaldy
  • Part time
  • £24,875 pro-rata
  • On site: Kirkcaldy
  • Closing 22nd November 2026

Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people through fuel poverty and food insecurity. We deliver a range of projects, events and skills training to achieve the needs and goals of local people – building resilience as a community and working towards a future where everyone can live better and tread more lightly on our planet.

Based in the heart of Kirkcaldy – with a community building, training kitchen, bike shop and garden – we carry out activities across Kirkcaldy and work with partners to deliver projects across Fife.

Part of our core team, you will support the day-to-day operational running of our key sites, including our community building at 8 East Fergus Place, the community garden and cabin at Ravenscraig Walled Garden, and our Active Travel Hub and bike shop on Kirkcaldy High Street.

The Role

We are looking for a Caretaker and Facilities Assistant to play a key role in ensuring our facilities are welcoming, clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained for staff, volunteers, participants, hirers, and visitors.

The successful applicant will enjoy practical problem-solving and take pride in maintaining community spaces through routine DIY, minor repairs, housekeeping, and proactive site inspections. A central part of the role involves keeping our spaces safe and compliant by carrying out statutory compliance checks—such as weekly fire alarm tests, monthly emergency lighting and extinguisher inspections, and routine health and safety checks.

You will work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and contractors, as well as use our digital tools to easily capture visit details, track maintenance issues, and keep site records up to date. Whether you are setting up rooms and equipment for events or acting as a keyholder for our venues, you will be committed to helping create safe, efficient, and welcoming environments for everyone across Greener Kirkcaldy.

Working at Greener Kirkcaldy

We want our town to be a good place to live and work. We believe in a future where everyone has a say in what happens locally, people are working together to protect our environment and those in hardship are supported to live well. That includes our staff and volunteers.

Working at Greener Kirkcaldy involves being part of a positive, collaborative and social team. Our culture is really important to us. We promote equality, diversity and openness. We have a strong focus on staff wellbeing and development and encourage staff initiative and ideas.

Benefits of working for Greener Kirkcaldy

  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and sick pay
  • Excellent wellbeing, training and development opportunities
  • Generous annual leave, with the flexibility to take time off at times that matter most to you
  • Social events

Diversity and inclusion

We want Greener Kirkcaldy to be an inclusive and diverse charity where everyone feels supported, valued and able to be themselves. We take part in Fife Centre for Equalities’ Equality Pathfinders programme. We also take part in the Race Equality Environmental Programme facilitated by CEMVO Scotland. Our Equalities Action Plan sets out the steps we are taking to improve diversity and inclusion.

To achieve our vision of Kirkcaldy as a greener and fairer place to live, we need a diverse team. We encourage applications from people of any background. We know that our sector particularly lacks staff and volunteers with Minority Ethnic backgrounds and disabled people. If you identify as Minority Ethnic or have a disability, we welcome your application.

If you need additional support to apply or take part in the recruitment process, please contact our Operations Manager Dianne Girvan. Email dianne@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk.

A bit about the service

Dundee Youth Housing Service is spread across two residential sites in the city of Dundee. We can accommodate 25 young people at one time through a mixture of housing support and care at home intervention.

The Dundee Youth Housing Service, in collaboration with the Dundee City Council, fulfils its statutory duty by supporting homeless/care experienced young people aged 16 and above. The aim of the service is to engage with young people and families at the earliest opportunity. To be responsive, to prevent situations escalating, and take the pressure off the local authority front line services.

As the initial point of contact for any young person facing homelessness in the city, our service plays a crucial role. Within the strategic housing partnership, Action for Children stands as the sole organisation dedicated to preventing young individuals from becoming homeless. Our service operates 24/7.

Our primary focus is to provide temporary accommodation for young people who have been assessed as homeless. We extend our support to young individuals who are homeless and have care experience.

A bit about the role

As a Team Leader within Housing Support, you will provide operational leadership to practitioners and support workers delivering support to young people, ensuring high‑quality, consistent and person‑centred services. You will oversee the delivery of structured support pathways, including referral, assessment, support planning and regular review, ensuring interventions are effective and outcomes‑focused.

You will work closely with Social Work, DCC Housing Teams and the AFC Prevention Team to ensure robust baseline assessments are completed prior to accommodation placements. Through supervision, guidance and quality assurance, you will support your team to empower young people to develop independent living skills and progress confidently towards sustainable, permanent accommodation.

You will manage and coordinate staffing arrangements for a continuous 24‑hour, year‑round service to ensure staffing levels consistently meet service demands, responding quickly to unplanned absences and allocating resources effectively to maintain performance and service continuity.

This post will predominantly be worked on a Monday to Friday basis, however, flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service. The postholder will also participate in the on-call rota, providing management support as required. This will include responding to incidents, offering guidance to staff, supporting decision-making out with normal working hours, and escalating concerns appropriately in line with organisational policies and procedures. An additional payment will be made for participation in the on-call rota.

The role involves leading partnership working with internal and external agencies to develop and deliver holistic, tailored support packages that respond to individual needs. You will promote best practice, encourage reflective working, and ensure safeguarding, risk management, and equality principles are consistently applied.

Ultimately, you will support your team to help young people live independently, engage positively with their communities, and achieve long‑term, positive outcomes—while maintaining service standards, compliance, and a focus on continuous improvement.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

As a Team Leader within Housing Support, you will lead and support staff to deliver effective, person‑centred support to young people. While maintaining an understanding of frontline practice, your role will focus on overseeing the delivery of general support and guidance, including independent living skills, tenancy sustainment, housing applications and access to appropriate services.

You will ensure your team has a strong awareness of local services available across Dundee and that young people are effectively signposted to relevant support based on assessed need. Through supervision, guidance, and role‑modelling best practice, you will support staff to deliver consistent, high‑quality interventions that promote independence and wellbeing.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Promoting and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, partner agencies, young people and families to support positive outcomes
  • Ensuring safeguarding and child protection responsibilities are fully understood, embedded in practice and escalated appropriately in line with policy
  • Providing regular supervision and facilitating practice meetings, ensuring reflective practice and a cohesive, consistent approach across the team
  • Monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, and professional standards, addressing issues through support and performance management where required
  • Leading and embedding practice aligned with GIRFEC, The Promise, the Health and Social Care Standards, and the SSSC Code of Conduct

Through strong leadership, oversight, and support, you will ensure services are delivered safely, consistently and in line with statutory and organisational expectations, contributing to positive long‑term outcomes for young people.

Let's talk about you

  • Must possess SVQ 3 in Social Services & Healthcare, or HNC Social Services or equivalent / SVQ4 in Social Services or Healthcare or willing to work towards / SSSC registered.
  • Previous experience of supervising staff.
  • Significant experience of working with children and young people with Learning Disabilities.
  • Confident in all aspects of MS Office.
  • Experience of coaching and supporting staff to reach a competent standard.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining drive and enthusiasm and to be able to deal with children and young people effectively and safely with challenging behaviour.

A bit about the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join within a brand-new delivery team within our employability service. As an Employment Facilitator in South Lanarkshire or South / East Ayrshire, you’ll be part of a supportive team delivering high‑quality employability support to young people. Your role is hands‑on, varied and deeply rewarding. You’ll work one‑to‑one with young people to understand their strengths, barriers and aspirations, helping them build confidence and take practical steps towards employment.

You’ll design and deliver tailored employability sessions taking into consideration personal development and essential skills. A key part of your role will be creating outcome‑focused action plans, reviewing progress regularly, and providing warm, consistent support to help young people stay motivated and on track throughout their time with us.

About the Service

Our Employability Service supports young people aged 16–24 across the central belt who are facing barriers to making positive choices about their future. Many of the young people we work with may be struggling to enter the labour market, or may need extra support to feel confident about their next steps. We provide a welcoming, youth‑centred environment where they can explore opportunities, build essential skills, and develop a sense of direction.

Through personalised programmes, practical activities and strong partnerships, we help young people strengthen their motivation, resilience and readiness for the world of work.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to improving life chances. We empower young people to recognise their strengths, overcome challenges, and take meaningful steps toward long‑term success.

What you do could make a difference

Some key responsibilities of an Employment Facilitator are;

  • Working in line with Action for Children’s standards and professional practice expectations and helping to put these into everyday practice.
  • Supporting and coordinating a caseload of young people, offering a range of tailored interventions, whether through group sessions, coordinated activities, or one‑to‑one support, to help them move towards the labour market.

Let’s talk about you

We’re open to people joining us from a variety of backgrounds, whether you’re stepping into your first role after gaining a recent qualification or looking to build on experience in youth work, employability or a related field. What matters most is your ability to engage young people, understand their challenges, and support them to move forward with confidence.

  • An SVQ Level 3 in Social Care, Guidance or a similar area would be helpful, but we’re equally open to applicants who bring relevant experience instead of a formal qualification.
  • Experience working with young people in group settings, particularly those facing multiple barriers, will be really valuable.
  • A good understanding of the challenges young people face when trying to access employment, and the motivation to help them overcome these.
  • The ability to build positive relationships, maintain professional boundaries, and create an inclusive, youth‑centred learning environment.
