Job Purpose: Edinburgh Women’s Aid (EWA) is looking for a Community Refuges Support Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide safe and secure refuge accommodation for women and children who are at risk of domestic abuse.
EWA will fund access to an SVQ Social Services and Healthcare qualification at SCQF level 6.

The Role
As Volunteer Development Officer, you will be responsible for many aspects of volunteer development such as recruitment, induction, training, retention, motivation and engagement. Reporting to the Head of Volunteer Development, your main responsibilities will include:

This role would best suit an individual with a passion for and experience of volunteering or working in the third sector, or any other relevant experience.
The ideal person will be very people-orientated, pro-active and flexible, empathic, creative, persuasive, resourceful and imaginative.
You’ll be someone who is a real team player who can easily fit in with a diverse team of people. You’ll be outgoing, friendly with good communication skills and be able to fit in wherever the job takes you.

The role of Director is a unique voluntary opportunity for women from diverse backgrounds who have expertise, time and are committed to making a real difference to the lives of women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.
As a member of WLWA Board, you will play a key role in shaping the strategy of WLWA and overseeing its governance to ensure it can continue to provide high quality services. You don’t need to be an expert in domestic abuse, but you do
need to have an understanding of the impact it has on women and children and be committed to our vision and values.

Living Rent is hiring a full-time community organiser in Aberdeen to support members organise in their neighbourhoods to challenge the issues they face and to fight for better housing and a system that works for the common good. The role entails outreach (stalls, door knocking), recruiting members, and supporting members to organise meetings, take responsibilities locally, build democratic neighbourhood branches and take part in city-wide and national structures.
In neighbourhoods, the organiser will support members to research their issues, select relevant campaigns, define achievable wins , organise direct actions and support members in negotiations with relevant targets including private/ social landlords, private companies, the local municipality. Housing Support Fife is a service providing housing support in the Levenmouth, Glenrothes and North East Fife area. Bethany Christian Trust is looking for a support worker to be part of this team. The successful post holder will work as part of a team delivering flexible and creative support to vulnerable people to meet their housing needs and help them maintain their tenancies.
You will have a proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. We would welcome applicants with lived experience of these issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential. An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Practitioner’ is desirable; the willingness to work towards this is essential.
