About Housing Options Scotland

We are a small charity, established in 1997 to provide housing information, advice and support to disabled people, older adults and members of the Armed Forces community. In 2024-25, we helped 1100 clients in all kinds of tenures across all local authorities in Scotland. About the role

We are in an exciting period of growth as a charity and are looking to expand the team. The Communications and Marketing manager will be responsible for raising the charity’s profile across a range of audiences, primarily in order to support fundraising and income generation efforts. The role holder will refresh the organisation’s communications strategy and produce content which helps to tell our story and highlight our impact. A key focus for the role will be to support the Fundraising and Development manager to deliver the organisation’s fundraising strategy which includes developing individual giving and social enterprise models. This is a new area of work for us and, as such, we are keen to hear from a wide variety of people who may have insights or ideas about how to take this forward.

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to manage Wild Things finances, including monthly management accounts and booking keeping, supporting the CEO in budgeting, cashflow, PAYE and compiling and submitting end of year accounts.

Established in 2023, the Water Row Company is responsible for the management of third-party provider lets, mid-market properties at Water Row; commercial units and student accommodation.

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Property Co-ordinator to oversee the daily operations, working both in the office and out on site. As the first point of contact for customers, you’ll deliver proactive, high-quality service that builds on our success and keeps us moving forward, maximising value and driving first class KPI performance. You will be responsible for rental income management and arrears; tenancy and estate management; raising and managing repairs; allocation and void management; tenancy sustainment; anti-social and behavioural management as well as general administration duties across all departments.

You will have previous experience in property management or in a related field, with a keen eye for detail to maintain high standards across all properties. With strong IT and organisational skills as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, you will have a proactive, motivated approach to work, with minimum supervision. Ideally, we would like you to have completed the LETWELL Programme, however we would be willing to provide full training to the right candidate.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to forge strong relationships with people and services across the city of Glasgow. Using a trauma-informed approach you will work with people of all ages and from every walk of life, supporting them in making positive changes. You will work alongside Police Scotland’s POP team and attend custody suites across the city of Glasgow to identify and help those that need support and direction.

You must be a skilled communicator who has an ability to connect with people facing a challenging range of issues. A team player, you will work closely with partners across Glasgow to achieve the right outcomes for those we are supporting. Often the people you encounter will be at a low point in their lives so you must be able to show empathy and forge a connection during that ‘reachable moment’, then back it up with the ability to create strong, trusting relationships which support people to access the help they need.

If people describe you as; level-headed, a listener, compassionate, patient, a great communicator, hard worker, resilient, dedicated, great in a crisis - and you have the energy and commitment to always go the extra mile to support people effectively then we would like to hear from you.

The role demands regular evening weekend work, followed up with community outreach support during the week.

We are looking for individuals who have:

  • Direct experience of recovery and/or mental health issues
  • Past experience of the Criminal Justice System (Please note that successful candidates will have to go through Police Vetting before being authorised access to Police Scotland Custody Suites).

It would be beneficial for applicants to have a full driving licence and access to a car satisfying the appropriate insurance requirements.

If you want to help make a difference in the lives of women, children and young people with experience of domestic abuse, have direct experience of providing one to one person-centred support, an understanding of the causes and impacts of domestic abuse along with good interpersonal skills then you may be the person we are looking for.

Applicants will have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a support or advocacy role. The MARAC team is a small supportive team with a wealth of experience to share with new workers. Training will also be provided for the successful candidates.
