About us

Express Group Fife is a well-established mental health charity operating in Fife for almost fifty years. We provide group activities for people over 18 experiencing poor mental health. The aim of the groups is to promote positive mental wellbeing by providing a safe place for sharing experiences and peer support.

There are currently 12 groups across Fife each week, supporting about 150 individuals during the year. Every person’s story is unique, and everyone’s route home is different - it doesn’t matter what the situation is – we’re not here to judge, only to help.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join experienced and dedicated team of staff and volunteers working together to make a difference to people’s lives and create real community impact.

As well as leading the team, the Service Manager will contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the charity, ensuring all services are delivered to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operational management
  • Staff and volunteer management
  • Finance, fundraising and accountability
  • Monitoring and evaluation
  • Communication, marketing and promotion
  • Proactive development of the service to meet the needs of service users in line with current mental health strategies in Fife

About you

You will be a strong leader who has gained experience in third sector not for profit organisation. You will have knowledge and understanding of the key issues facing those experiencing poor mental health in Scotland today. You will also have a working knowledge of current legislation, policies and strategies relating to the role.

We are currently looking to recruit support workers to join our small team within Inclusion Alliance. The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities to be included in the community and lead an ordinary life. Your work would involve helping people to access educational, social, leisure and work or volunteering opportunities in the community.

No experience or formal qualifications are necessary for the role although a caring nature, positive attitude and a sense of fun are important characteristics to have. New staff will receive paid training and undertake shadow shifts with experienced staff members during induction. We want new staff to feel ready and able to work prior to working on their own for the first time.

We have various vacancies available including part time and relief/casual positions in various locations throughout Edinburgh.

Working hours are based between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday

Relief/ Casual pay rate- £12.65 per hour

Ayrshire Cancer Support has operated since 1982, providing emotional support and practical help to those affected by cancer; this role will play a valuable part in supporting the services we offer.

As we continue to grow our services to meet increasing demand, we are seeking a caring and compassionate professional with excellent communication skills, who will support those affected by cancer who access our services. With your clinical experience, you will support the wider team with complex situations to achieve the very best person-centred support. You will be methodical, empathetic, resilient, and be able to manage the demands of ongoing emotionally intense work.

You will be a qualified and registered nurse or allied health professional with at least three years post qualification experience in an oncology setting. You will be passionate about delivering face to face, accessible cancer support in a local community setting, while remaining abreast of the national cancer landscape.

Reporting to our Director of Care Services, you will be joining an established and experienced team and will be responsible for providing expert patient information and support to help meet the emotional, practical and social needs of people affected by cancer. This varied role will also support a small team of volunteers that provide level one support to people affected by cancer.

This is a part time role based over 28 hours (4 days) per week, worked between Monday to Friday within our Support Centres in Kilmarnock and Ayr, and so a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

This role offers a 3-year fixed term contract, funded by the National Lottery.
