We operate various initiatives aimed at fostering community engagement, social inclusion, and empowerment. Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Community Hub Development Worker for a 12 month contract.

Role overview

As a Community Hub Development Worker you will play a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of our community hub. This multifaceted role involves engaging with stakeholders, coordinating activities, and facilitating partnerships to ensure the hub becomes a focal point for community cohesion and development. You will be at the forefront of creating a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with community members, local organisations, and authorities to identify needs and opportunities for the community hub.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the hub’s services and activities to the wider community.
  • Organise and facilitate events, workshops, and programs that cater to diverse interests and demographics.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to assist with hub operations and activities.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with external organisations, businesses, and funders to secure resources and support hub initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of hub activities, collecting feedback from stakeholders to inform future planning and development.

Person Specification

  • A genuine passion for community development and a commitment to promoting social inclusion and cohesion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organisational abilities, with experience in project management and event coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing needs and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of community development principles and experience working within community settings is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies as required
