Royal Blind is Scotland's largest visual impairment charity, supporting children and adults of all ages with sight loss, many of whom have additional disabilities.
You will be part of a nursing team within a wider multidisciplinary team with responsibility for the delivery of daily care and assessment of health needs, the development of care plans and the implementation and evaluation of these. You will ensure that the delivery of care to our children and young people is of the highest quality.
You will work within both the Residential and School setting (Mon-Fri), working across 52-weeks. Nursing shifts cover a 24/7 period, consisting of 12.5-hour shifts which can be both dayshift and wakened nightshift.
You will be accountable for high nursing standards and practices within the school and provide evidence of this good practice for our inspection bodies - The Care Inspectorate, Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE), NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (NHS QIS), Social Work Inspection Agency (SWIA) from April 2011.

As the welcoming face of Sight Scotland Veterans, you will often be the first contact the veterans have each day, and as such are an important representative for the organisation. To be responsible for safely transporting veterans in the minibus or car to and from the Activity Hub or other locations, as required.
To undertake any driving duties necessary to the functioning of the organisation as agreed with the Deputy Manager.
To take responsibility for Health & Safety in relation to the minibus or car including ensuring, that all passengers use appropriate seatbelts / restraints during all journeys and that all passengers are assisted in a safe fashion when boarding / exiting the minibus or car.
Ensure that the minibus or car is driven with due care and attention in accordance with current road traffic legislation.
Take responsibility for the routine maintenance of the minibus or car, including cleaning the vehicles and ensuring the Deputy is informed as soon as possible of any problems in relation to the vehicles.
Ensure all wheelchair clamps are present and functioning in the minibus.
Any other reasonable driving or ancillary duties that may be required.

This is a fixed term role for 1 year. You will develop, prepare and review the Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans’ 2024/25 budget. You will provide high quality customer service and commercial administrative support to key stakeholders of the Scottish Braille Press, as well as providing a professional transcription service in accessible formats for people with a vision impairment primarily for commercial clients.
You will administer the day-to-day commercial administrative and customer service duties working alongside, and on behalf of, the Customer Service Coordinator and Manager. Duties include client communications, order processing, sales quotations, invoicing, credit control and purchasing.
You will have excellent organisation and administration skills, and strong interpersonal skills along with a good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages and fast/accurate keyboard skills. Attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively, together with a flexible approach to working practices is required. Previous experience of working with clients in the financial sector will be an added benefit.

An internal communications expert is being sought by Scotland’s largest visual impairment organisation.
You will lead and develop strategic internal communications across Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, ensuring high levels of understanding and engagement amongst our colleagues. You will also be responsible for devising appropriate communications messaging and channels for other key close stakeholders, including our service users and their families.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Finance team within the at Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans. As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the smooth operation of our finance department, which serves both charities. This is a newly created post and reflects our growth in recent years.
Sight Scotland has annual income of £18M and assets of £51M. Sight Scotland Veterans has income of £3M and assets of £57M. This is a very exciting time to join Sight Scotland and your initial responsibility will be to co-ordinate the implementation of a new financial accounting system.

We are seeking an experienced Policy and Research Officer to support us in the delivery of campaigns and research projects to influence decision making on behalf of people living with sight loss across Scotland.
