It provides support, practical help and essential information to victims, witnesses and others affected by crime. The service is free, confidential and is provided by trained volunteers through a network of community based victim services and court based witness services.

What is the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Co-ordinator, (12 month Fixed-term contract) working 35 hours per week.
Work pattern: Monday - Friday between 8AM - 8PM & Saturday 10AM - 4PM
Primary location: Kirkcaldy court, however you will be expected to cover all areas of Central & Fife locality
Reporting directly to a Locality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring, within your Service(s), that VSS’s local service development and delivery plan is being implemented within your geographical area(s). Service delivery is provided by a team of skilled and knowledgeable volunteers, you will be responsible for planning their deployment to ensure that the service delivered meets the desired outcomes of victims and witnesses of crime, our service users. Responsible for all aspects of a volunteer engagement with VSS at your services, including recruitment, induction, learning and development, ongoing performance management and support. Contributing to business planning and co-ordination ensuring that continuous learning takes place to monitor that the outcomes of service users are being met.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in a similar role and can evidence of continuing professional development, effective leadership style, able to build confidence, motivate and improve performance. Good working knowledge of the voluntary/charity sector is required, as is a willingness to be flexible in working hours and able to travel as required.

What is the role
We are recruiting for multiple Relief Support Co-ordinators to support our team across Scotland. Relief Support Co-ordinators provide cover over weekdays, evenings and weekends. Shifts are offered when they are available, but there is no obligation to accept work.
We are looking for Relief Support Co-ordinators to cover one of the following localities:
- Edinburgh, Lothian and Borders locality
- Highlands and Islands locality (Inverness, Wick, Tain, Lochmaddy, Oban, Stornoway, Campbelltown)
- Central Scotland and Fife - Fife, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire (Alloa)
- South West locality - (Areas: Ayrshire, Dumfries/Galloway, Inverclyde, east Dunbartonshire west Dunbartonshire Argyle& Bute)
- West locality - (North and South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire)
**Note that as a sessional worker, and if you are successful, we can agree a specific area within a locality or different localities you would like to cover**

What we offer?

What is The Role
Working closely with the Head of Communications and External Affairs, the post holder will assist in the development of policy positions, curate content for and write responses to consultations, and assist in the development of campaigns which contribute to improving the lives of people affected by crime. The post involves engagement with a wide range of stakeholders including politicians, political parties and opinion formers.
What You’ll Need to be Successful
The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience in parliamentary/public affairs campaigns, policy research or a related role, working on major projects focused on rights issues. Demonstrable experience of working effectively with partners and stakeholders, and an understanding of social policy, criminal and community justice issues in Scotland is required. The post holder will be an effective influencer, able to articulate complex issues clearly and succinctly with strong writing skills and attention to detail.
Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh
Salary band: £31,890 – £42,109. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
