The Counselling Service Team Coordinator is pivotal in providing operational and strategic support to counsellors and supervisors across Health Centres and Outreach Centres. The role ensures that counselling services meet professional standards and adhere to the COSCA Ethical Framework & Codes of Practice. This includes overseeing service delivery, facilitating training, and fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders. The position is critical to maintaining service excellence, compliance, and ethical integrity.

This service offers individual, free and confidential counselling for people experiencing alcohol/substance-related difficulties and those impacted by someone else’s alcohol issue. The service is provided by trained staff, students and volunteers. Individuals access the service either directly or by being referred by another source such as a GP, Addictions or Social Work Teams. The service addresses health and social wellbeing, while promoting and supporting the development of trauma informed practice.

The post holder will support the ADAPT Manager to manage and co-ordinate a high-quality service within FASS, whilst ensuring staff counsellors, volunteers and students receive appropriate supervision, support, and guidance.
