Your role as Occupational Therapist will focus on vocational rehabilitation, helping individuals with physical, mental or developmental conditions to regain or enhance their ability to achieve well paid, sustainable employment aligned to their vocational goals.

About You

We really need you to have these:

  • Batchelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience of working with participants with complex Bio-Psychosocial conditions.
  • Experience of working with people in a social work, community, primary are or hospital context.
  • A working understanding of vocational rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of practical and forward-thinking recommendations that explore adjustments and support for individuals with health conditions and disabilities looking to enter and/or return to the workplace.
  • Excellent communication and motivating skills.
  • Computer literacy including excellent keyboard skills and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills for interactions with participants and service providers.
  • Proven and well-developed interpersonal skills in working with individuals on a one to one and group setting.
  • The drive, energy and commitment to support people to obtain high-quality, well-paid jobs.Comfortable working towards targets.
  • A natural, professional relationship builder.
  • A full driving licence.

As a qualified health professional, your role will be integral to the success of our participants moving forward into employment. You will possess the skills and abilities to engage our participants, offering them an understanding of how they can adapt and develop strategies to manage physical, cognitive, emotional, behavioural and social difficulties associated with their health condition, delivering improved health and wellbeing.

Engaging with referral partners, colleagues, employers and stakeholders to promote the work that we do, you will be a confident communicator, with excellent presentation skills. You will be representing Enable Works and our clients in everything you do so you will need a professional, can-do attitude. Our reputation is important to us.

We have high expectations for our clients and you will be given a workplan with targets. We support you throughout, but you need to be comfortable working towards them.

We would love it if you had these:

  • Experience in supported employment services or vocational training programmes including collaboration with job coaches or employment advisors.
  • Current registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Documented evidence of CPD.
  • Experience of service development.
  • Knowledge of establishing, implementing and evaluating intervention programmes.
  • Understanding of relevant policy and legislation.

  • SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Full driving licence with access to your own vehicle for business use.
